Job Description

Position Overview

The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing key aspects of the Company's financial reporting function, including the preparation and review of complex quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, footnote disclosures, and related financial analyses for Invenergy and its affiliated entities. This role leads and develops members of the Financial Reporting team, fosters a high-performance culture, and ensures the team has the capabilities and resources necessary to support the Company's evolving reporting requirements and strategic objectives.

The Manager, Financial Reporting plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and other applicable reporting requirements while driving continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting processes, controls, and systems.

This position partners closely with Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Project Accounting, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of financial information. The role serves as a key liaison with external auditors and is responsible for recruiting, developing, coaching, and retaining top talent within the Financial Reporting organization.

Invenergy follows a hybrid schedule, working in office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, develop, and inspire Financial Reporting team members through effective performance management, mentoring, succession planning, training, and career development initiatives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee engagement while supporting team members in achieving their professional goals.
  • Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, statements of operations, equity, and cash flows, as well as related footnote disclosures for renewable energy projects and affiliated entities, including complex multinational consolidations.
  • Review financial reporting analytics, investigate significant fluctuations and trends, and provide insightful analysis of financial results and reporting variances.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of audit support schedules, disclosure support, and other financial reporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with external auditors by providing financial statements, supporting schedules, audit documentation, and technical analyses to facilitate the successful completion of annual audits and interim reviews.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial reporting policies, procedures, and internal controls to promote accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training related to financial reporting, accounting policies, technical accounting guidance, and regulatory reporting requirements across the Accounting and Finance organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and other transactions that impact financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency through process optimization, automation, standardization, and system enhancements.
  • Oversee the effective utilization and continuous improvement of financial reporting and consolidation technologies, including Workiva, OneStream, Oracle Fusion, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Lead and support special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, and/or public accounting, including responsibility for complex financial reporting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, consolidations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting, consolidation, and enterprise accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated project management, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience within a multi-entity organization, public accounting firm, renewable energy company, or SEC-reporting environment.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing accounting or financial reporting professionals.
  • Experience with Workiva, OneStream, Oracle Fusion, and other financial reporting and consolidation technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, system implementations, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to excellence, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Base Pay

$120,000.00 - $145,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 25% - 40%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
 
In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance. Your recruiter can share more about bonus eligibility for this position during the hiring process.
