Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, contract management, performance reviews, and funding agreements.
Analyze sales, market share, inventory, and profitability data to identify opportunities and improve category performance.
Lead assortment planning, SKU rationalization, product launches, and planogram development.
Develop pricing, promotional, and merchandising strategies to drive sales and profitability.
Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Retail Operations, and Sales teams to execute category plans.
Monitor competitors, industry trends, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.
Manage vendor funding, rebates, co-op programs, and financial reporting related to assigned categories.
Present category performance reviews and strategic recommendations to leadership.
Retail banner support (Rexall, Guardian, IDA, Remedy'sRx, independent pharmacies, etc.)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Approximately 5+ years of category management, merchandising, purchasing, or analytical experience for Category Manager/Specialist-level roles.
Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills.
Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
Experience in retail sales, marketing, or category management of HABA or OTC is an asset.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, financial and analytic skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint and Excel.
Must possess the right balance between being creative and paying attention to detail.
Ability to work a fast paced and changing environment.
Knowledge of related regulations.
Demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills.
