Manager Taxation

We are currently looking for a Manager Taxation to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all taxation matters of WPP Media Pakistan, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, managing tax planning initiatives, and partnering with the business to mitigate tax risks while supporting operational and commercial goals.

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of WPP Media's business operations, financial structure, and tax compliance framework.
• Build strong relationships with agency finance teams, external consultants, and tax authorities.
• Take ownership of routine tax compliance activities, including direct and indirect tax filings.

In six months:

• Independently manage taxation matters across assigned agencies and business units.
• Provide tax advisory support to finance and commercial teams on business transactions and contracts.
• Identify opportunities for tax process improvements and automation.

In 12 months:

• Serve as a trusted tax business partner for management and agency leadership teams.
• Lead tax planning initiatives and support strategic projects from a taxation perspective.
• Drive process efficiencies and strengthen tax governance and risk management practices across the organization.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Ensure timely preparation, review, and filing of all direct and indirect tax returns.
• Monitor compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Manage correspondence, notices, audits, and assessments with tax authorities.
• Coordinate with external tax consultants and advisors on compliance and advisory matters.
• Review withholding tax, sales tax, income tax, and other tax-related transactions to ensure compliance.
• Conduct tax reconciliations and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting activities.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks across business operations.
• Provide tax advisory support on contracts, vendor agreements, client arrangements, and business initiatives.
• Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency while maintaining compliance.
• Prepare tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and related disclosures.
• Support internal and external audits related to taxation matters.
• Track changes in tax legislation and evaluate their impact on the business.
• Develop and maintain tax policies, processes, and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with finance, commercial, procurement, HR, and legal teams on tax-related matters.
• Undertake special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

What you will need:

• CA, ACCA, ACMA, or MBA Finance with a strong taxation background.
• Minimum 4-6 years of relevant taxation experience, preferably in a multinational organization, professional services firm, or large local enterprise.
• Strong technical knowledge of Pakistan taxation laws, including Income Tax, Sales Tax, and withholding tax regulations.
• Experience in handling tax audits, assessments, and regulatory correspondence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Experience with ERP systems and tax reporting tools will be an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a matrix organization.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.

Maximum Qualifications

• CA (Finalist/Qualified) or ACCA Qualified.
• 5+ years of progressive taxation experience.
• Proven experience in managing tax compliance and advisory functions.
• Experience working within a multinational environment is preferred.
