Über diese Manager, APAC Recruiting Stelle bei Anthropic
About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We're looking for a Manager, APAC Recruiting to lead all hiring across the region as Anthropic builds out its presence across Asia Pacific. This is a senior leadership role that requires exceptional stakeholder partnership, operational rigor, and the ability to serve as connective tissue between a fast-moving regional business and a global recruiting org.
You'll partner directly with our Head of International Sales and the APAC-based leadership team. These partnerships require a highly consultative approach: deep fluency in the Asia Pacific talent landscape, the EQ to translate between regional reality and global expectations, and the executive presence to be in the room when headcount decisions get made, not after.
You'll build and lead a team of recruiters across the region, setting the standard for what high-touch, high-judgment recruiting looks like. The impact of this role extends beyond your own team. You'll partner closely with functional recruiting leaders in the US to ensure that candidates are all held to the same bar as their US counterparts, while adapting the motion to markets that work differently.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead APAC Recruiting operations, creating scalable processes and infrastructure across our key markets (Japan, Korea, Australia, India, Singapore) and beyond as the region grows
- Manage a team of APAC-based recruiters responsible for all functions (G&A/Core Functions, GTM, and Tech), while maintaining dotted-line relationships with global recruiting leads in the US
- Partner closely with the Head of International Recruiting and APAC regional/country leads to develop localized talent acquisition strategies that align with business objectives
- Navigate complex and varied regulatory environments across the region, ensuring full compliance with employment laws and country-specific hiring and data privacy regulations in each market (for example APPI in Japan, PIPA in Korea, the Privacy Act in Australia, the DPDP Act in India and the PDPA in Singapore)
- Serve as a cultural ambassador, bridging US headquarters with APAC offices and facilitating cross-cultural collaboration across multiple languages, time zones and business norms
- Drive senior-level searches including regional "Head of" positions and other leadership roles across the APAC region
- Create and implement recruiting strategies that leverage local market insights in Japan, Korea, Australia, India, Singapore and emerging APAC markets, while maintaining global consistency in hiring standards
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners including HR, Legal, Finance, and global recruiting peers across time zones, including the limited overlap between APAC and US working hours
- Establish metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems to measure APAC recruiting effectiveness and provide strategic insights to leadership
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within APAC markets while respecting local cultural contexts and legal requirements
You may be a good fit if you
- Have 10+ years of recruiting experience with at least 4+ years leading recruiting teams, preferably in APAC or multi-country Asia Pacific environments
- Have proven experience building recruiting functions from the ground up in new APAC geographic markets
- Demonstrate expertise across all recruiting domains (G&A, GTM, Tech) with the ability to recruit for various functions and levels
- Have a strong understanding of employment law, data privacy, compliance requirements and local hiring norms across key APAC markets, including the differences between markets such as Japan, Korea, Australia, India and Singapore
- Excel at managing and collaborating across time zones with exceptional cross-cultural communication skills relevant to Japanese, Korean, Australian, Indian and Southeast Asian contexts
- Can operate strategically at leadership level while maintaining the ability to execute hands-on recruiting for senior positions
- Show proven track record of being an effective business partner to HR, Legal, Finance, and other key stakeholders
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Demonstrate success in serving as a cultural bridge between headquarters and regional offices
Strong candidates may also
- Speak multiple languages relevant to APAC markets. Fluency in Japanese, Korean, or other regional languages is a plus
- Have lived and worked across multiple APAC countries or regions
- Have established talent networks in Japan, Korea, Australia, India, Singapore or other APAC markets
- Demonstrate success in building employer brand presence in new APAC geographic markets
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
