Job Description:

SCOPE: Functions as a point person/coordinator of services for oncologists and oncology patients. Promotes the smooth transition of patient care from entry into MBPCC system until completion of treatment and throughout follow-up process. Assists designated physician(s) in a variety of professional and paraprofessional patient care activities as specified and requested. Responsible for providing specialized care of the oncology patient including patient assessments, education, vital signs, meaningful use requirements, e-scribing medications and PET and CT scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.    Coordination of patient care services.
2.    Specialized nursing care of oncology patients.
3.    Phone triage
4.    Patient education
5.    Prep charts
6.    Scheduling PET and CT Scans

QUALIFICATIONS:

Active LPN license in the state of LA.

Active BLS CPR.

Oncology experience preferred.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nursing required, oncology experience preferred.

This position is primarily located at our clinic in Covington, LA but supports our clinic in Slidell, LA as needed. Candidates who can accommodate both locations will be considered first.
