Lead Practitioner | Disability Services, NDIS 

 

  • Employment Term: Permanent Full Time

  • Location: Chermside

  • Remuneration: $46.70 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team  

  • Work in collaboration with people with disabilities, their families, and personal networks to  
    assist the people we serve in everyday living situations 

  • Mentor, lead and manage a team of Disability Support Practitioners to deliver high quality care and support 

  • Ensure safe efficient and sustainable day to day management of resources for particular  
    arrangements, including staff, records, budget, buildings and vehicles 

  • Implement intentional safeguards for people being supported 

  • Recognise and uphold the right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the person being  
    supported and their family. 

 

What makes a difference for us?   

  • Leadership experience in a similar role and relevant qualifications in the Human Services, Community Services or related industry 

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and mentor staff, working within established budget, direction and guidelines 

  • Demonstrated experience with internal and external reporting matrix’s and case management experience will be beneficial along with demonstrated experience in appropriately managing emergency or crisis situations 

  • A willingness to understand the application of the principles of family or self-governance, personal autonomy, choice and control and intentional safeguarding for our clients 

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of driving safety measures and auditing requirements 

  • Knowledge of legislation underpinning the provision of services within the disability sector and the key issues affecting quality of life for people with a disability 

  • Completed the NDIS worker orientation module "Quality, Safety and you" Capacity to undertake On-Call Responsibilities 

  • A current Positive Notice from Disability Services, willingness to undergo a “Working with Children Check” and a Suitability Card (Blue Card) prior to commencing employment. 

  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificates
