PPG is looking for a Key Account Manager to develop and grow strategic relationships with major shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, industrial asset owners, EPCs, and key infrastructure customers in Malaysia. Reporting to the Business Manager, the role is responsible for driving profitable growth through account management, project acquisition, and specification influence across our Protective & Marine Coatings business in Malaysia.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic key accounts across the marine and protective coatings segments.

• Develop account plans to increase sales, profitability, and market share.

• Identify and secure major vessel drydocking, maintenance, newbuild, infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects.

• Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, technical stakeholders, and procurement teams.

• Influence coating specifications and position PPG solutions at an early project stage.

• Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract execution.

• Coordinate closely with Technical Service, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and regional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecast, and market intelligence for strategic accounts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in key account management, technical sales, business development, or commercial roles.

• Experience in coatings, marine, oil & gas, infrastructure, energy, or industrial markets is preferred.

• Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Proven track record of managing large accounts and securing high-value projects.

• Experience working with major ship owners, EPC contractors or industrial asset owners

• Knowledge of corrosion protection, marine maintenance, or protective coating solutions

• Ability to manage complex opportunities involving multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
