Position Summary

A Joint Interest Billing (“JIB”) accountant is needed within the JIB/AR group to support the Accounting Department. This person would report to the Accounting Manager and is located in Downtown Houston, TX.  Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist with monthly joint interest billing process

• Process monthly rebills as required

• Apply cash for accounts receivable payments

• Resolve owner inquiries

• Prepare and record journal entries related to JIB accounts as required

• Prepare account reconciliations, complete JI Audit requests and maintain SOX compliance

• Assist with special projects or other accounting related assignments as requested

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related degree

• Strong analytical skills

• Strong Excel skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy

• Ability to communicate effectively within all areas of the organization

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• Oil and gas accounting experience

• Experience with Enertia, OpenInvoice, and EnergyLink systems

• Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to improve processes

• Strong team building skills
