Job Summary

The Apprenticeship program at Bread Financial provides the opportunity for aspiring and motivated professionals to gain specialized skill under the guidance of experienced colleagues. In a job shadowing based environment, members of the Apprenticeship program consistently exhibit a willingness to learn, excel in time management, and grow, develop and prepare skills needed for future utilization at Bread Financial.

An Apprentice will exist in the following areas of the business (*this list is subject to change based on needs of the business and organization).

• Enterprise Risk- BSA/AML, Complaints, Testing
• Human Resources- People Center, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development
• Credit Risk- Business Performance Management
• Information Technology- Service Delivery, InfoSec IAM, ePMO, Network & Systems, Application Development
• Client Partnerships & Marketing- Account Management, Partnership Marketing, Marketing Delivery, Marketing Performance

Applied Solutions Portfolio Management is responsible for evaluating and advancing BreadBox ideas from concept to solution design. The team works closely with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements, assess savings and benefits, define and capture business requirements, identify optimal solution approaches, and develop solution designs that can be delivered by the OpEx Delivery organization. Their primary objective is to help transform innovative ideas into actionable initiatives that deliver measurable business value and support OpEx targets.

ASP Business analyst role involves gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, understanding current-state processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and creating clear process documentation such as workflows, process maps, and functional requirements. The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders and project teams to ensure business needs are accurately translated into actionable solutions.

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Communication: Demonstrate outstanding Verbal and Written communication skills when working with internal and external partners. Present information in a clear, concise, and professional manner utilizing technology and innovation. Build and maintain effective internal and external business partners. Identify, resolve and escalate concerns (associates, system, partner) as needed.  

• Documentation and Technology:  Learn to update and document account information and records, identify, resolve and escalate concerns in a timely manner, and respond to/redirect calls/issues as appropriate. Understands how to utilize knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams to execute daily work. Successfully utilize the technology expected by the organization as it relates to the role (e.g. SAS, SQL, Archer, etc.)

• Compliance:  Learns now to follow established guidelines for quality and productivity. Regardless of responsibility, act responsibly at all times to minimize risk and ensure compliance. Provide documentation to ensure compliance responsibilities are met. Participate in internal and external audits by request to support the first, second, and third lines of defense within the organization.

• Collaboration: Observe importance of managing communication with supervisors, and coordinators from various departments and fostering collaborative relationships with Operations Leadership through verbal and written communication.  Observe team member ability to influence peers and Operational partners on proposed business strategies in order to meet company objectives.   Be well organized, flexible and willing to assist wherever possible. 

• Reporting: Learn how to utilize reporting and other data to analyze performance and strategy effectiveness, solve problems and make decisions. Utilizes knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work. 

• Business Acumen: Actively seek out opportunities to expand knowledge of the broader business. By completing overviews of teams outside the area of rotation, project interactions, or other cross functional collaboration, continuously expand knowledge of the organization, offerings, and innovations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
• Years of Work Experience Required: 12+ months with organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience documenting processes, requirements, project details, or recommendations.
• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation tools.
• Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to support research, documentation, communication, or problem solving.
