Global Client Director  

Job Summary

The Global Client Director will be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of complex, key multinational clients with headquarters based in Sweden and the Nordics. This senior leadership role requires a strategic, client-centric professional who can build and sustain trusted relationships with C-suite executives and key stakeholders, drive sales and global revenue growth, and lead Marsh People and Investments’  multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, tailored solutions that address clients’ people-related business challenges. The role demands a deep understanding of client industries, market trends, and Marsh People and Investments’ full suite of capabilities to maximize client satisfaction, profitability, and long-term partnership value.

The Global Client Director reports into the Head of Global Client Management for Europe.

As a Global Client Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Marsh People and Investments client partnerships in Sweden and the Nordics, driving impactful business outcomes, and leading a talented global team. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading multinational corporations, delivering innovative solutions that transform their people strategies and business performance.

Your responsibilities:

• Client Relationship Management:
  Build, maintain, and deepen trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, including C-suite executives, across Swedish and Nordics based multinational corporations. Act as the primary client advocate and trusted partner, ensuring Marsh People and Investments’ (and where applicable Marsh’) solutions align with client business strategies and needs.
• Portfolio Growth and Profitability:
  Drive global revenue growth and profitability within the designated portfolio by developing and executing comprehensive 360° client management strategies. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expand the mix of Marsh People and Investments (and where applicable Marsh) products and services, and meet agreed financial targets.
• Strategic Client Leadership:
  Lead the development and implementation of tailored client growth strategies based on thorough market, industry, and client insights. Monitor client health, anticipate client needs, and proactively address challenges to preserve and enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.
• Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  Manage, motivate, and coordinate Mercer’s global client teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes, including leading global RFPs, project implementation, and ongoing service delivery. Foster a collaborative environment that leverages Marsh People and Investments’ global expertise to bring the best solutions to clients.
• Technical Advisory and Solution Delivery:
  Provide expert advice and informed recommendations by leveraging Marsh People and Investments’ (and where applicable Marsh’) subject matter expertise, IC, products combined with a comprehensive understanding of client risks and needs. Ensure solutions are customized, compliant, and aligned with Marsh People and Investments’ business standards.
• Market Engagement and Thought Leadership:
  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Represent Marsh People and Investments and Marsh at events and conferences to build a strong professional network, enhance Marsh People and Investments’ and Marsh’ brand presence, and position the firm as a thought leader.
• Governance and Compliance:
  Uphold Marsh People and Investments’ business and compliance standards in all client interactions and contractual agreements, ensuring advantageous terms for both the client and Marsh People and Investments while institutionalizing long-term client relationships.

Your profile:

• Proven experience managing complex, multinational client portfolios, preferably within the Swedish and/or Nordics market or similar European context.
• Strong strategic thinking and business development skills with a track record of driving sales and revenue growth.
• Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior executives and diverse stakeholders (clients and firm).
• Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional, global teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Deep understanding of people-related business challenges and the ability to translate client needs into actionable Marsh People and Investments solutions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Willingness to travel as required to maintain client relationships and attend industry events.
