The Opportunity
As part of PwC Enterprise Data Platform team, you design and develop robust, scalable applications and integrations that drive efficiency for both internal and external stakeholders across the organization.
This is a full stack engineering role with a stronger focus on frontend development using React and TypeScript, while also contributing to backend services and integrations developed with Java in a Microsoft Azure environment. You independently design, build, and maintain modern web applications, APIs, and integrations that power the team's solutions and automations.
You have experience building responsive, user-friendly applications, integrating frontend solutions with RESTful APIs, and contributing to backend services using Java. You actively participate in code reviews, write comprehensive tests and documentation, and contribute to delivering secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
You collaborate closely with Business Analysts, UX Designers, other Technical Teams, and the Architecture team to deliver high-quality solutions based on well-defined requirements — all in fluent English, with German being a plus.
What you will be doing
1. Design and Development
1a. Design and develop scalable, maintainable backend services and APIs using Java.
1b. Build and expose RESTful APIs to support frontend applications and external integrations.
1c. Build and expose RESTful APIs to support frontend applications and external integrations.
1d. Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
1e. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for applications, processes, and solutions.
1f. Optionally contribute to frontend development using React and TypeScript when needed.
2. Collaboration and Agile Practices
2a. Work closely with Business Analysts and UX Designers to translate predefined requirements into technical solutions.
2b. Collaborate with the Architecture team to ensure solutions align with overall technical standards and organizational goals.
2c. Actively participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning and daily standups.
2d. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality across the team.
3. Maintenance and Continuous Improvement
3a. Maintain and enhance both greenfield and existing backend services and applications, ensuring ongoing stability and performance.
3b. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in deployed applications in a timely manner.
3c. Identify opportunities for improvement and refactoring within existing codebases.
3d. Explore and implement modern Azure AI capabilities to enhance applications with intelligent features.
What we need from you
You have a higher education degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
You have at least 4 years of hands-on experience with Java backend development
You have solid knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
You have a strong understanding of relational databases, particularly Azure SQL and PostgreSQL, including proficiency in SQL.
You are experienced working with Azure cloud services and familiar with GitHub and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD.
You have the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively within agile teams.
AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals
You are fluent (written and spoken) in English
You have knowledge of or interest in modern Azure AI services and their practical application.
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
What is nice to have:
You have experience building frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
You have experience with designing/implementing event-driven architecture (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Service Bus). You have experience working with serverless applications (Azure Function app etc)
Design and implement secure applications in serverless environments. Experience with EntraId , OAuth2 and basic authentication protocols, understanding basic network functionality and key security features
You have experience with Azure environment ( Logic apps, key vault, API Management etc)
Working efficiently alongside with copilot, on designing, implementing, verifying, documenting, testing the solutions
