We are seeking an FP&A Manager to strengthen the Finance function at a pivotal stage in OMass’s growth. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative environment and will become an integral part of our vision to address patients’ unmet needs while building Britain’s Biggest Biotech. You will take ownership of project and clinical trial finance; lead business partnering for R&D and operational teams and support the automation and scaling of financial reporting processes. It is expected that the FP&A will absorb material responsibility currently sitting with the VP Finance, particularly across clinical trial execution, project financial governance, and forecasting.

Requirements
Essential Experience, Skills and Qualities
- Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant experience in a life sciences environment
- Experience in biotechnology, life sciences, or a high-growth R&D-intensive business
- Proven hands-on experience in FP&A, business partnering, and management reporting
- Familiarity with clinical trial or CRO/CDMO cost structures and accrual methodologies
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS as applied in a UK biotech or life sciences context
- Proficiency in financial systems; experience with NetSuite is advantageous
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under time pressure
- Clear and confident communicator, able to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive and collaborative working style, with an interest in the science and business of drug development
- Responsible and focused approach to independent and collaborative work, with the ability to prioritise and deliver high-quality work to deadlines
- Caring and inclusive; respectful and receptive to others’ diverse ideas, experience and perspectives, and enjoys working collaboratively with others as a team
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience supporting a fundraising process or financial due diligence exercise
- Comfortable adopting automation and AI tools to reduce manual work and speed up analysis
Role Responsibilities
Clinical Trial and Project Finance
- Own financial oversight of the company’s first clinical trial, including budget management, cost tracking, and variance reporting
- Manage and develop CRO/CDMO accrual processes, working closely with the Financial Controller and VP Finance to ensure IFRS-compliant accounting
- Establish and maintain a contract and change order management process in collaboration with Business stakeholders, ensuring budget implications are captured and communicated promptly
- Produce timely project-level financial reports for programme teams and the VP Finance
FP&A and Business Partnering
- Act as the primary finance business partner to R&D project teams, providing budget oversight, financial challenge, and decision support
- Support the VP Finance with the annual budget cycle, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning, including scenario modelling
- Prepare project-level reporting packs and drive improvements in reporting automation and quality
- Maintain project-level financial forecasts
Financial Reporting and Controls
- Support month-end close, including preparation of project accruals and prepayments
- Lead the automation and streamlining of management and project reporting, reducing manual processes
- Assist with UK statutory reporting and audit, working with the Financial Controller and external auditors (PwC)
Fundraising Support
- Support the VP Finance in preparing financial materials for the fundraising, including investor reporting, data room preparation, and financial due diligence responses
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the integrated three-statement financial model
