Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an outstanding individual who will be responsible and accountable for FCR in the poultry industry. This will be involved with weighing birds, setup and breakdown of equipment, and also cleaning of equipment and any other jobs necessary.Job Description:
Applicants are not allowed to own any kind of birds due to the risk of possible disease transmission.
Job Duties:
Collect Data and Perform House Checklist within Feed Conversion Houses performing the following weigh chickens
Record and add feed to feeders as needed
Collect data with pen and paper and/or on a computer or tablet
Check bird’s overall health following the accepted protocols
Dispose of dead birds as instructed
Feed birds according to schedules
Clean and disinfect house equipment, waterers, feeders and cages
Perform routine housekeeping duties
Segregate birds according to line and sex as instructed
Remove and place birds in cages according to schedules
Examine birds for signs of illness and report any problems to lead or manager
Monitor controls and thermostats that regulate temperature and humidity of the poultry house
Record information according to instructions such as bird weight, feed, added feed, and mortality; repair, align, and construct cages, pens or equipment (feeders, water lines, lights, vents, etc.)
Qualifications:
Team oriented
Basic computer skills
Ability to work Flexible Hours including some weekends
Must be a Self-Motivator with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
Good communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
Current Drivers License
Willing to travel from farm to farm
The following duties will vary according to the needs of the department. Normal duties will include:
Biosecurity – Health & Safety are major responsibilities
Working closely with Grow & Rear farms managers and staff
May perform other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor
