Job Summary – Equipment Maintenance Technician:
Bring your mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving mindset to a role that builds long‑term success inside our maintenance organization. As a Planned Maintenance Technician, you will develop a deep understanding of the equipment you support, performing the inspections, adjustments, and component replacements that keep our production lines reliable and running at their best. This role is ideal for someone with a solid technical foundation who wants to expand their skills and take on increasing responsibility over time.

We invest in internal development, and your growth continues well beyond day one. You will strengthen your mechanical and electrical knowledge through company‑supported mechatronics coursework, equipment‑specific training, and NFPA 70E electrical safety education. As you advance, you will have the opportunity to take on more complex troubleshooting, support response activities, and move into higher‑skill roles within the department. Many of our technical leaders began in this position, and we are committed to helping you build the skills required to advance into response technician and future leadership opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

  • Run PMs that matter: execute CMMS‑scheduled inspections, lubrication, torque checks; replace wear items and keep equipment clean and organized (6S).

  • Rebuild & improve: rebuild subassemblies to spec; install/commission components; implement minor hardware mods with Equipment Engineering.

  • Support the plant: maintain compressed air, vacuum, cooling water and related utilities to keep lines stable.

How You Work

  • Safety first. Always. Follow the EH&S Charter, LOTO, PPE, permits, and stop‑work authority.

  • Clear communication: Attend shift turnover; ensure logs are accurate and current before handoff.

  • Documentation that improves equipment health: accurately open and close CMMS work orders with findings, parts used, time spent, and PM results; record equipment condition and recurring wear trends to support reliability planning.

Grow Your Career Here

  • Grow your skills and advance your career: this role provides a structured development path starting with strong mechanical and equipment‑care fundamentals. You’ll have opportunities to expand your capabilities through continuing education in mechatronics, hands‑on learning with senior technicians, and formal NFPA 70E electrical safety training as you build confidence with electrical concepts.
As you develop, you can progress into a fully qualified Response Technician role and, with proven leadership and technical depth, may advance toward Shift Lead and other leadership opportunities within the organization.

  • Mentorship & pathing: collaborate with Maintenance Shift Leads and Manufacturing Engineering; grow from technician to lead/subject‑matter expert as you demonstrate results.

Shift & Schedule

  • 12‑hour shifts within a rotating schedule; overtime as needed to support operations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, tools, and materials up to 50 lbs., and perform related movements such as bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight spaces.

  • Ability to wear required PPE including respirators and successfully meet spirometry/respirator certification requirements.

  • Ability to work on and around production machinery, at heights, and on uneven surfaces

  • Ability to safely operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks as needed.

  • Ability to sustain physical activity for 12‑hour shifts, including standing, walking, and climbing throughout the workday.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education

    • High school diploma or GED required

  • Experience

    • 1+ year of mechanical or maintenance experience in manufacturing, facilities, automotive, military, or related environments OR strong hands‑on aptitude demonstrated through schooling or technical training.

    • Experience performing basic equipment inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements is a plus.

    • Familiarity with production machinery, sensors, motors, pneumatics, or simple electrical devices.

    • Ability to work in an ITAR setting, as defined by USCIS (US Person)

  • Technical skills

    • Ability to use basic tools: wrenches, torque tools, calipers, gauges, hand tools, multimeters (for safe checks only).

    • Comfortable reading basic mechanical drawings, exploded diagrams, PM job plans, and simple wiring diagrams.

    • Understanding of fundamental concepts such as:

      • sensors and switches

      • mechanical drives and belts

      • pneumatic components

      • safe electrical boundaries

    • Ability to follow PLC/HMI reset procedures and standard work.

  • Safety

    • Working knowledge of LOTO/energy isolation, Stored Energy Control.

  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Coursework, certificate, or AA/AS in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, Automotive Technology, or a related hands‑on technical field.

    • 2–3 years of experience performing PMs, minor repairs, equipment cleaning, or mechanical adjustments in a production or industrial environment.

    • Basic familiarity with CMMS systems (creating/closing work orders, entering findings).

    • Exposure to PLCs/HMIs (acknowledging alarms, performing safe resets).

    • Experience with:

      • simple mechanical rebuilds (bearings, rollers, guides)

      • sensors or low‑voltage devices

    • A desire to advance into higher‑skill maintenance roles through continuing education (mechatronics) and NFPA 70E certification.
