Location: Plymouth, MN
Shift Hours:
- 1st Shift
Your Responsibilities:
- Assemble prototype HVAC units from BOMs, SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, schematics, and Engineering direction. Assembly includes sheet metal construction, copper brazing, insulation, and electrical circuit wiring
- Install instrumentation on test units per standard lab methods
- Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments
- Identify and report nonconformities to engineering and design stakeholders
- Provide thoughtful solutions to difficult mechanical/ electrical problems and product improvement to engineering stakeholders
- Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times
- Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
- Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams
- Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications
- Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements
- Create records of prototype build activities and document them according to laboratory procedures
- Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis
- Implement corrective and preventative actions
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities
- Provide direction, assistance and training to other technicians (senior roles only)
Your Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or related experience
- Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service (preferred)
- Fork truck training/license, Man lift training/license, Universal card, or R410a card (preferred)
- Mentorship experience (preferred)

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. Ability to work at heights.

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.65 to $50.77 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
