Based in San Jose, CA, this role is part of a globally distributed organization responsible for enabling supply continuity and long-range capacity readiness. The position requires seamless collaboration with teams, suppliers, and partners across multiple geographies, along with the flexibility to support business-critical engagement outside of standard working hours as needed.

Your Impact

At Cisco, capacity is much more than manufacturing capability. It is a strategic advantage that enables growth, strengthens customer commitments, and helps bring innovative Silicon One technologies to market.

As Director, Global Capacity Planning & Strategy, you will build and implement the long-term capacity strategy that supports Cisco's Silicon One business around the world. Working across foundries, advanced packaging providers, substrate suppliers, assembly, test, and other key manufacturing partners, you will help ensure that our supply network evolves alongside customer demand, technology roadmaps, and business priorities.

Reporting into Silicon Manufacturing Operations, you will partner across Cisco and our external ecosystem to anticipate opportunities, navigate constraints, and enable confident business decisions. You will also help redefine how capacity planning is done by using AI, automation, sophisticated analytics, and digital workforce technologies to develop the next generation of planning capabilities. This is an opportunity to influence the future of one of the industry's most strategic functions!

Global Capacity Strategy & Supplier Partnerships

We work at the intersection of technology, manufacturing, and business growth. In this role, you will collaborate with strategic manufacturing partners across the semiconductor ecosystem to develop capacity strategies that support Cisco's long-term ambitions.

You will translate business plans, product roadmaps, and customer demand signals into clear capacity requirements and guide long-range reservation, allocation, and investment decisions. By building positive relationships with suppliers and internal partners, you will help secure the manufacturing capabilities needed to support future growth while creating flexibility for changing market conditions.

Risk Management & Decision Support

You will lead scenario modeling and risk analysis across wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, substrates, assembly, and test operations. By identifying potential constraints early and evaluating alternatives, you will help the business respond quickly to technology transitions, demand shifts, supply disruptions, and growth opportunities.

Working closely with senior leaders, you will provide data-driven recommendations that support investment decisions, supply continuity, customer commitments, and long-term business success.

AI & Digital Planning Transformation

You will help accelerate Cisco's adoption of AI-enabled planning by combining human expertise with intelligent digital capabilities. Through automation, predictive analytics, real-time insights, and scenario-based decision support, you will modernize planning processes and enhance how decisions are made across the organization.

Your leadership will help improve planning speed, increase visibility across the supply chain, and enable teams to focus more time on strategic decision-making and innovation.

Global Leadership & Team Development

You will lead and inspire a distributed team spanning regions, cultures, and time zones. By creating an inclusive environment where different perspectives are valued, you will help individuals grow, contribute, and achieve their full potential.

Together, we will build strong planning capabilities, develop future leaders, and create a collaborative culture that encourages curiosity, learning, and bold thinking. Your leadership will help our organization thrive in a fast-moving global manufacturing environment.

Meet the Team

You'll partner closely with Business Units, Product Operations, Demand & Supply Planning, Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing Operations, NPI/Ramp Planning, Test Engineering, Test Operations, and Engineering Leadership.

Together, we make some of the most important tradeoff decisions in the business, balancing revenue growth, supply assurance, capacity investments, customer commitments, inventory strategies, technology transitions, and business risk.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain, planning, or operations experience.

  • 8+ years of experience leading global teams and cross-functional organizations.

  • Experience working within highly outsourced semiconductor manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of foundry, OSAT, advanced packaging, and substrate ecosystems.

  • Expertise in capacity planning, supply planning, semiconductor manufacturing, supplier engagement, and integrated business planning.
