About your manager

Marek Novotný is a Partner within the Advisory services of PwC. Working extensively in the US and European geographies, he is recognized as a strong executive within the technology areas. He is focused on quality while providing a reliable and trustworthy services in areas of custom software development covering digital products and services development, cloud transformations and data related services (analytics, engineering and science).  In the past Marek has held also an array of positions within areas of Technology Consulting, Forensics Technology Services and Data Analytics.

PwC Czech Republic is actively seeking an experienced Delivery and Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be dedicated to delivering custom development services to our valued customers. The team’s primary focus lies in developing software applications for the financial and industry sectors. These applications empower both internal and external clients by automating their processes. As a Delivery and Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Client Relationship Management: Maintaining strong working relationships with current clients is essential. Your proactive approach will contribute to client satisfaction and retention.

• Market Exploration and Relationship Building: Actively seek new opportunities by exploring untapped markets. Building relationships within these markets will be crucial for business growth.

• Market Trends Awareness: Stay informed about market trends and use this knowledge to design service offerings that meet client requirements effectively.

• Collaboration with Product Managers and Solutions Architects: You’ll work closely with these teams to deliver projects and products using agile project management methodologies. Frequent learning and iteration are key components of this process.

• Roadmap Definition and User Stories: Partnering with the Product Manager, you’ll define the roadmap for each product. Your role involves translating this roadmap into actionable user stories that guide development efforts.

• Business Representation: You’ll represent our products from a business perspective to both external stakeholders and internal clients. Effective communication and understanding of business needs are crucial.

• Dynamic Planning and Prioritization: Leading the collaborative planning process, you’ll prioritize tasks based on team capacity and capability. This ensures efficient execution of work.

• Matrix Management: You’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective coordination and alignment across various functions.

• Quality Assurance: It’s your responsibility to ensure that all products meet the appropriate quality standards for their development stage (alpha, beta, or production).

• Demonstrated Team Management: You should have a proven track record in effectively managing development teams. This includes overseeing their work, fostering collaboration, and ensuring successful project delivery.

• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders is crucial. Effective communication and understanding their needs are key.

• Business Development Expertise: Showcase your success in business development activities. This includes creating compelling business cases for new services or offerings.

• Domain Familiarity: Familiarity with product development in areas such as analytics, big data, or machine learning is highly desirable. Understanding the nuances of these domains will be advantageous.

• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): A solid grasp of the software development life cycle is essential. This knowledge will guide decision-making and ensure efficient project execution.

• AI/GenAI: Interest in transforming SDLC and standard ways of working to AI-first SDLC. Focus on unlocking business value through AI technology

• Software Engineering Background: Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and write code across multiple programming languages and frameworks. Experience in developing proof-of-concept applications and prototypes, with a strong grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices. Familiarity with modern development disciplines such as DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automated testing, version control, containerization, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines. Maintains a hands-on approach to coding at least on personal projects.

• Project and Product Management Skills: While not mandatory, expertise in project or product management is a valuable asset. Experience in planning, prioritization, and execution will enhance your effectiveness.

• Agile Methodologies: Experience working with or implementing agile methodologies is beneficial. Adaptability and flexibility are key traits in an agile environment.

• Matrix Management: You’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective coordination and alignment across various functions.

• Quality Assurance: It’s your responsibility to ensure that all products meet the appropriate quality standards for their development stage (alpha, beta, or production).

• Willingness to Travel: You should be open to travel, with an expected commitment of up to 20%. This allows you to engage with clients, explore new opportunities, and strengthen relationships.

• Combined - 75% Remote, occasional office presence in Prague, attendance to regular planning sessions/workshops required.
