This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S.
Optiv is seeking a Cyber Operations Advisor (COA) to join Optiv's Advanced Fusion Center (AFC). The AFC delivers managed security services to clients across all industries through its Client Engagement, Engineering Operations, and Detection & Response teams.
The Cyber Operations Advisor (Identity Security) is a senior technical leader and trusted advisor responsible for driving measurable Identity Security outcomes, operational maturity, and client value. The COA combines deep Identity expertise with advisory and operational leadership capabilities to lead client engagements, develop strategic roadmaps, improve service performance, and drive continual improvement across Identity Security services.
Acting as the primary technical voice for assigned clients, the COA translates business requirements into actionable Identity strategies while partnering with engineering and delivery teams to enhance security posture, operational effectiveness, and client satisfaction.
How you'll make an impact
Lead multiple client engagements, driving measurable security outcomes and operational improvements.
Serve as the primary technical advisor for Identity Security services.
Translate business requirements into actionable Identity Security strategies and roadmaps.
Drive service maturity through KPI analysis, operational metrics, and continual improvement initiatives.
Provide expertise across IAM, PAM, Identity Governance (IGA), authentication, federation, and identity lifecycle management.
Identify operational, governance, and security risks and recommend remediation strategies.
Conduct service reviews, maturity assessments, and executive-level client presentations.
Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to optimize service performance and client outcomes.
Support pre-sales, solution reviews, and strategic client initiatives.
Validate service delivery aligns with client expectations, contractual commitments, and security objectives.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 8+ years of cybersecurity experience.
Proven success leading client-facing engagements in consulting, managed services, or professional services environments.
Deep experience with:
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Privileged Access Management (PAM)
Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)
Authentication and Federation
Identity Lifecycle Management
Strong analytical skills with experience using KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics to drive improvements.
Strong understanding of NIST CSF, CIS Controls, PCI, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Experience with cloud identity technologies across Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
Experience with one or more leading Identity platforms, including: CyberArk, Delinea, BeyondTrust, SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, MSSP or Managed Security Services environments (preferred).
One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CyberArk Certifications, SailPoint Certifications, Microsoft Identity Certifications (preferred).
