We are seeking an experiencedย Cost Control Engineerย to oversee project cost management and financial performance across large-scale HVAC and MEP construction projects. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in budgeting, cost analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining operational efficiency.
As a Cost Control Engineer, you will work closely with project management, procurement, estimation, and finance teams to monitor project expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide accurate financial insights. You will play a critical role in supporting project planning, improving cost control processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor project budgets, actual expenditures, and cost performance across HVAC and MEP projects.
- Track and control procurement costs, purchase orders, subcontractor expenses, and non-fixed cost items.
- Analyze cost variances, identify financial risks, and recommend corrective actions to maintain budget compliance.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and project-specific cost reports, dashboards, and financial summaries for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement, estimation, and finance teams to improve cost efficiency and project profitability.
- Validate invoices, subcontractor billing, purchase orders, and payment requests against approved budgets and contractual requirements.
- Support project forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning activities.
- Maintain accurate cost control records, documentation, and financial tracking systems.
- Implement and continuously improve cost control procedures, reporting standards, and best practices.
- Support benchmarking exercises and provide cost insights to improve future project planning and execution.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 10+ years of experience inย Cost Control, Project Cost Management, or Commercial Project Management within HVAC, MEP, or construction environments.
- Bachelor's degree inย Mechanical Engineeringย or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, construction project execution, and project financial management.
- Proven expertise in budget monitoring, cost analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management or reporting tools.
- Ability to interpret project drawings, BOQs, specifications, and commercial documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial planning skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary project teams.
