JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

MCC’s Continuing Education Division is seeking enthusiastic and experienced non-credit instructors with leadership and management expertise to provide personal enrichment opportunities to members of our community for a new course series called Elevate. This position will have various teaching opportunities throughout the year and will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and practical course content that enhances students’ personal growth and enriches their lives.

ABOUT ELEVATE

Elevate is Metropolitan Community College's new professional growth and leadership development program designed to help individuals build the workplace skills needed to succeed in today's evolving workforce. Through interactive workshops led by experienced industry professionals, participants strengthen their leadership capabilities, communication skills, critical thinking, workplace influence, and overall professional effectiveness. Multiple positions are available to teach for this program in a variety of subject areas focusing on developing soft skills for organizational success and advancement.


ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and deliver engaging workshop curriculum and lesson plans aligned with Elevate's professional growth and leadership development objectives.
  • Facilitate interactive learning experiences for adult learners in one or more professional development areas, including leadership, communication, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, workplace effectiveness, problem-solving, strategic thinking, change management, professional presence, collaboration, project management, data analytics, and related topics.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and skill development.
  • Assess participant learning and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth and application of skills.
  • Incorporate real-world examples, practical exercises, case studies, and group activities to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Adapt instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles, professional backgrounds, and experience levels.
  • Collaborate with Continuing Education staff to support program quality, participant engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more professional development disciplines, such as leadership, communication, organizational effectiveness, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, workplace culture, project management, customer service, change management, data analytics, or related fields.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational leadership or management experience from which to draw examples to create contemporary and engaging curriculum.
  • Ability to engage diverse audiences and translate complex concepts into practical, actionable strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to customize instructional approaches to meet participant needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communication, leadership, human resources, education, organizational development, psychology, or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or higher in business, communication, leadership, human resources, education, organizational development, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching, training, facilitating workshops, coaching, or delivering professional development programs for adult learners.
  • Relevant professional certifications, credentials, or industry experience are highly desirable.
