Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage all construction activities for a major site supervision consultancy project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring that construction works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, contractual requirements, and project schedules. Working closely with the Resident Engineer, Project Director, contractors, and multidisciplinary supervision teams, the successful candidate will provide construction leadership, coordinate site operations, resolve technical and construction issues, and ensure the successful delivery of high-profile building and hospitality developments.
Your role
- Lead and oversee all construction supervision activities during the project execution phase.
- Monitor and manage daily construction operations to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site supervision personnel across multiple disciplines.
- Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with project schedules and approved work programs.
- Review construction methodologies, work sequences, and resource deployment plans.
- Monitor contractor performance and recommend corrective actions to address productivity or quality concerns.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, planning, commercial, and quality teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Ensure construction works comply with relevant local regulations, authority requirements, and international standards.
- Monitor site progress and identify potential delays, risks, and construction constraints.
- Lead construction coordination meetings and progress review meetings with project stakeholders.
- Review and resolve construction-related technical issues and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Ensure implementation of approved Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
- Monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
- Review contractor method statements, temporary works proposals, and construction execution plans.
- Verify construction progress for payment certification and reporting purposes.
- Coordinate inspection activities and ensure timely closure of observations and non-conformances.
- Support project controls and commercial teams in evaluating construction impacts, variations, and claims.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, de-snagging, and handover activities.
- Ensure all construction records and reports are maintained in accordance with project requirements.
- Support project closeout activities and ensure successful completion of all contractual obligations.
- Mentor and guide site engineers, inspectors, and supervision staff to promote high-performance project delivery.
About you
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Construction Management or Project Management is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer, PMP, or equivalent certification is desirable.
- Minimum 15+ years of overall construction experience within the building construction industry.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a Construction Manager role on major building developments.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale buildings, convention centers, hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, commercial complexes, and hospitality projects.
- Extensive experience within Site Supervision Consultancy, PMC, or Engineering Consultancy environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and subcontractors on large and complex projects.
- Good understanding of FIDIC contract administration principles.
- Strong knowledge of quality management processes, inspection procedures, and commissioning requirements.
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabian building regulations, authority approvals, and GCC construction practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
