CNC Structural Steel Operator

Shift: 2nd Shift
Starting Pay: $23.00/hour + $3.00/hour night differential. Starting pay may be higher depending on experience.
Position Overview
We are seeking a CNC Steel Processing Operator to operate and maintain CNC equipment used to process structural steel. This position requires experience reading fabrication drawings, handling steel materials, performing measurements, and making machine adjustments.
What You'll Do
Set up and operate CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
Review blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders for job requirements.
Position and secure beams, plates, and other steel using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
Monitor equipment and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
Check dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision tools.
Make basic programming edits for varying material sizes and thicknesses.
Complete routine machine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting.
Follow OSHA and shop safety procedures while maintaining an orderly work area.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
2+ years of CNC machine operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
Ability to read and understand structural steel shop drawings.
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
Overhead crane, forklift, and rigging experience preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
