Talent Voyager · Vor Ort · Stockholm, Stockholm County, Sweden

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a growing technology-oriented company, and are looking for an experienced and hands-on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their leadership team.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an operational leader who can work closely with the CEO as a trusted partner, translate vision into execution, and build the processes and structure needed to support the company's continued growth.

The company is at an exciting stage of development, with a relatively lean team and an entrepreneurial environment. The COO will play a key role in bringing greater structure, efficiency, and accountability to the organization while maintaining the agility that comes with a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CEO to translate the company's vision and strategic priorities into clear operational plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day operations and ensure that the organization runs efficiently, predictably, and with clear accountability.
  • Build, improve, and standardize processes across functions to create a seamless and scalable operating model.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and gaps, and implement practical solutions to address them.
  • Establish clear workflows, responsibilities, KPIs, reporting structures, and operating rhythms across the organization.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure effective collaboration between business, technical, operational, and commercial functions.
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Support the CEO in prioritization, decision-making, resource allocation, and organizational planning.
  • Introduce appropriate systems, tools, and processes as the company grows, without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and effective communication.
  • Help the organization transition from an entrepreneurial, founder-driven environment toward a more structured and scalable operating model.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, general management, business management, consulting, or a similar leadership function.
  • Previous experience in a COO, Head of Operations, General Manager, Operations Director, or comparable senior role is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a startup, scale-up, entrepreneurial, or fast-growing company.
  • Strong track record of building and improving processes in environments where structure is still developing.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect operational decisions with broader business objectives.
  • Comfortable working with technology and technical teams, with the ability to understand complex products, systems, and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and functions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both senior leadership and operational teams.
  • High level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where there is none.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach: willing to step into the details when necessary while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
  • Experience working across international teams or markets, particularly in Eastern Europe, is a strong advantage.
  • Professional fluency in English.

Benefits

  • A high-impact leadership role with significant influence over the company's operational development.
  • Direct partnership with the CEO and an opportunity to shape the company's next stage of growth.
  • A high degree of autonomy and ownership.
  • The opportunity to build processes, systems, and ways of working from the ground up.
  • A dynamic and entrepreneurial environment with significant room for professional impact.
  • Exposure to a broad range of business, operational, and strategic challenges.
  • Compensation and benefits will be discussed based on experience and the scope of the role.
