What is Category Analyst Procurement – Transport?

The role would be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process Transport domain including MW, Optical, IP and Fiber.

The role reports directly to the Category Procurement Manager- Transport and act as an individual contributor with no people management responsibilities.

What does Category Analyst Procurement do?

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables 

·       Support the development and maintenance of sourcing calendars aligned with budget forecasts and business requirements.

·       Assist in procurement planning activities and coordinate timelines for RFQ/RFP processes.

·       Participate in vendor assessment activities and support supplier evaluation and scoring exercises.

·       Assist in managing sourcing projects through different stages of the procurement lifecycle, including RFQ/RFP documentation and bid collection.

·       Support preparation of commercial evaluations, including basic TCO analysis and techno-commercial comparisons.

·       Coordinate BOQ alignments and assist in ensuring compliance with approved frame agreements.

·       Assist in the preparation and management of bulk purchase agreements and catalogue-based PO issuance.

·       Support price verification activities and participate in commercial negotiations with guidance from senior team members.

·       Prepare monthly dashboards, KPI reports, and spend/savings analysis using Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Develop analytical, reporting, and presentation skills to support procurement decision-making.

·       Assist in preparing negotiation summaries and strategies for sourcing activities.

·       Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and support procurement execution.

·       Conduct market research and gather supplier intelligence to support sourcing initiatives.

·       Support preparation of monthly and YTD procurement spend and savings reports.

·       Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills while working with cross-functional teams.

·       Maintain accuracy in procurement documentation, reporting, and data management activities.

Well versed with Digital & AI tools:

·       Oracle ERP (ESS/Fusion), purchasing module – should be capable to prepare and initiate a Tender/RFx on oracle ESS/Fusion and able to conduct e-Auction using Oracle procurement module on ESS/Fusion.

·       SAP Ariba Contract Management Module – The candidate needs to have adequate hands-on experience on this module for creating Contract Request Workspace and should be able to conduct and complete contract normalization/negotiations on this module.

·       MS 0365 Tools and Analytical skills – it’s a must for the candidate to be well versed with use of Excel, power point, think cell, power BI and its analytics.     

·       AL Tools: Can develop analytical/data models for insights and decision-making. Can use Agentic AI (AI agents that can perform tasks autonomously) to support daily operational activities. Has strong knowledge and experience with various Natural Language Processing (NLP) models.

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Category Analyst Procurement?

·       Experience and Educational requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, driving sourcing plans, and achieving targets.
• Strong communication skills and should be able to converse freely with internal and external stakeholders.
• Technical knowledge and experience in Mobile/Cellular Operator/Vendor work environment with expertise in RAN/Core/Transport Networks is a plus.
• CIPS certifications at any level would be preferred.
