Where you come in?
As our Capital Modelling Analyst, you'll be at the heart of maintaining, enhancing, and running our capital modelling capabilities. We're looking for someone to help us deliver key regulatory, risk management, and business outputs, including Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) submissions and committee reporting.
You'll work closely with colleagues across our Risk, Actuarial, Finance, and Underwriting teams, providing the technical analysis and insights that help us make key decisions and manage our capital. In this role, you'll combine model operation, development, and documentation, supporting our immediate regulatory deliverables while helping us build the future of our capital modelling framework.
What you will be doing: 🖋️
- Support the maintenance, operation and ongoing development of the capital model to ensure it remains robust, fit for purpose and aligned to business requirements.
- Run the capital model and perform associated analysis to support internal and external reporting requirements.
- Assist with model development activities, including enhancements to methodology, processes and governance.
- Produce key model outputs and analysis to support regulatory submissions, capital assessments and committee materials.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation covering model methodologies, assumptions, processes and controls.
- Support the parameterisation and validation of risk categories within the capital model.
- Assist with the calculation and reporting of the Solvency II Standard Formula capital requirement.
- Contribute to the calculation of the Margin for Risk (MVM) within Solvency II technical provisions.
- Support reinsurance purchasing activities through capital modelling analysis and insight.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across Risk, Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting and other business functions.
Requirements
- Degree in Mathematics
- Proficient with Excel and programming (experience within capital modelling software such as Tyche, Igloo or Remetrica is advantageous)
- Experience within capital modelling, actuarial modelling, or related risk management activities within insurance markets
- Knowledge of general insurance markets or life and pensions environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships across multiple teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and modelling outputs.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload effectively and deliver high-quality outputs to agreed deadlines.
