Western Express is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the BI team and add to the growth of our reporting and analytics solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the BI team by creating stakeholder reporting and offerings across the business using data analysis, visualization, and business intelligence tools. We are seeking an individual with excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with technical and business stakeholders, and the drive to own deliverables and initiatives while working on both self-directed and team projects. We are looking for someone local to Nashville, TN as this is mostly an on-site role.
In this role, you will:
- Use SQL (T-SQL syntax) to access, build, and update tables, views, stored procedures, etc.
- Analyze data quality and accuracy
- Ingest and transform data from various internal and external systems to create key performance indicators
- Translate business questions into scalable data products — owning design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Develop user-friendly and effective tools to support end users’ needs using MS SQL Suite, TIBCO WebFOCUS, AS400, SQL Viewpoint, or researching options not currently used internally
- Simplify time-intensive, error-prone processes by developing programmatic solutions.
- Communicate proactively with team members and stakeholders on project priorities, timelines, and progress.
- Document processes and procedures
- Manage multiple complex projects in a methodical and structured way

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of SQL query writing experience, T-SQL syntax experience a plus
- 5+ years of experience in a business intelligence or analytics role using MS SQL suite of products, including but not limited to SSMS, SSIS
- Supply chain and/or transportation industry experience a plus
- 5+ years of experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, WebFOCUS, etc.), TIBCO WebFOCUS experience is a plus
