The Benefits Analyst supports the accurate and timely administration of employee benefit programs, including benefit enrollments, insurance billing, employee records, claims, and payroll deduction support. This role serves as a resource for employees, field leaders, Payroll, internal partners, and benefit vendors while helping ensure benefit transactions are processed correctly and in accordance with applicable requirements.

Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Analyst partners with Payroll, Information Technology, field leadership, and external vendors to resolve issues, maintain data integrity, support compliance activities, and improve benefit administration processes.

At RBI, accurate benefits administration is essential to the employee experience. Timely enrollment, billing, record maintenance, and payroll coordination help employees receive the coverage and support they expect while helping the company meet its compliance obligations. The Benefits Analyst contributes to this work by resolving employee questions, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining dependable benefits data and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Update annual benefit plan rates, perform testing scenarios, and partner with the internal Information Technology team on system enhancements.
  • Administer Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance activities related to monthly and annual look-back processes.
  • Review benefit enrollments in the HRIS to help ensure vendors receive accurate eligibility information.
  • Coordinate monthly and annual 401(k) retirement plan compliance and regulatory activities.
  • Process and maintain employee records, files, and claims related to benefit programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between RBI and external vendors to resolve claims, billing issues, and other matters requiring coordination.
  • Provide benefit guidance and support to District Managers and Regional Human Resources Managers.
  • Research and resolve employee questions and concerns related to benefits.
  • Process and reconcile weekly and monthly insurance carrier premiums, including outstanding employee premiums, and resolve carrier administration issues.
  • Support Benefits and Payroll team members with benefit-related system issues.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, processes, and other benefit administration activities.
  • Support special projects and assignments for the Benefits team and perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of applicable federal and state benefit regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, COBRA, and Section 125.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information, reach logical conclusions, and establish an appropriate course of action.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with close attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment in key matters.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, field leaders, internal partners, and external vendors.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or a related area required.
  • Customer service experience and strong administrative and communication skills required.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft, Workday, or a comparable HRIS, including reporting and benefits administration functionality, preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities and compressed timelines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee information with tact and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and related business software.
