Position Overview
The Deployment Engineer for AV Builds supports delivery and maintenance of audio-visual systems through hands-on field engineering services. This position focuses on pre-commissioning and commissioning support, ensuring AV systems are installed, configured, and validated to meet client performance standards. This engineer will also provide an additional layer of maintenance and break/fix support for collaboration spaces - including complex event venues and multipurpose rooms – to ensure operational continuity and rapid issue resolution.
Secondary responsibilities include deployment and project support for refresh and remediation efforts, working under the guidance of the AV Builds Engineering team to maintain consistency across AV environments.
Key Responsibilities
1.Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Field Engineering Services
• Conduct system-level validation of AV components, including DSP programming, control system configuration, and network integration.
• Execute commissioning procedures to verify functionality, performance, and interoperability across AV platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phases.
• Document commissioning results, configuration settings, and punch list items as appropriate.
• Verify AV systems meet design intent and client expectations prior to handoff.
2. Inventory & Logistics Management
• Maintain accurate records of AV equipment, including serial numbers, locations, and operational status.
• Track any reused equipment, ensuring it is properly documented and attributed to the correct project.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including RMAs and returns, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
• Facilitate site access and logistics for vendors and internal teams.
3. Deployment Support
• Assist with deployment activities for AV system refresh and remediation projects.
• Support scheduling, resource coordination, and vendor oversight under the direction of the AV Builds Engineering team.
• Contribute to project documentation, including BOMs, QC Checklists, and sign-off forms as required.
• Ensure consistency with client standards and best practices.
4. Process Improvement & Best Practices
• Support continuous evaluation and improvement of commissioning, workflows, deployment processes, tools, and documentation standards.
• Ensure consistency and operational efficiency by leveraging internal tools, templates, and best practices (e.g., inventory trackers, commissioning checklists).
5. Maintenance and Break/Fix Support
• Work closely with the Operations team responsible for providing first and second level support.
• Manage tickets and escalations for incoming or ongoing incidents, performing diagnostics and remote or on-site troubleshooting.
• Escalate unresolved issues in accordance with client procedures.
• Assist with any root cause analysis procedures.
• Participate in problem management activities.
• Support approved changes and upgrades to deployed systems, as required.
Qualifications
• 5-8 years of experience with AV field engineering, commissioning, or systems integration and maintenance.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with AV control systems, DSPs, and signal routing.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- AVIXA CTS Certification.
- Q-Sys Certification
