YOU

As a Regional Builder Manager, you will be responsible for supporting customer relationships with builders, contractors and subcontractors in the Southeast region. You will coordinate with and contribute to the overall branch and company efforts to profitably grow our business. You are responsible for working with individuals at all levels in the builders' and contractors' organizations to improve their knowledge of Strong-Tie products and system solutions. You will also help coordinate and support training sessions/workshops in the territory. These trainings/workshops require scheduling, promotion, set-up, presentation, and take-down, as well as providing observation and suggestions for improvement. You will work with National Builder Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Product Management, Marketing, and other field sales representatives to assist with sales initiatives and programs; and communicate appropriate market trends and field intelligence to Management and Operations to ensure customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Work individually and with team members to identify opportunities, understand competitive market conditions and industry trends related to the builders. Support customer relationships within the region. Work with individuals at all levels and disciplines within the builders' organization to accomplish the goals, identify new opportunities, and respond to builders' requests. Maintain regular contact with builder, field, and home office personnel. Exercise independent judgment in managing assigned accounts, prioritizing customer activities, and recommending sales opportunities within an assigned territory. (65%)

Assist local sales representatives with implementing, monitoring and enhancing the effectiveness of the Builder Program in the sales representatives' territories. (20%)

Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as an industry partner and potential employer; participate in trade shows, association meetings and various committees and/or causes; provide educational opportunities in classroom settings throughout your territory to various audiences. (5%)

Work with marketing and product management on the best way to introduce new products and information to builders. Work with the product management team to help identify new potential products and tools. (5%)

Other duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, consistent CRM management and usage, scheduling, business planning, submitting expense reports in a timely manner, regular maintenance of company-owned vehicles, and other duties as assigned. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of industry experience and/or training. Fluent in residential construction practices and distribution channels. Must have a strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and present captivating presentations and incorporate sales skills to step a prospect through a story.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to build and sustain productive customer relationships.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to maintain an open, approachable manner, and treat others respectfully.

  • Writing: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
  • Organization & Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously as well as quickly reallocate resources to respond to changing customer and team member needs.
  • Influence: Ability to address issues in an open, constructive, professional manner.
  • Analysis/Reasoning: Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer/Software/Technology: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point) Salesforce CRM, SAP ERP, and other industry standard software packages.
  • Technical: Practical working knowledge of residential housing industry. Familiarity with Simpson products is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A/B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This position requires domestic travel up to 60% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is remote and may be based anywhere within the Southeast region.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$70,000 - $86,000 / year

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, see, talk, and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.
