You’ll work closely with senior leadership and cloud experts, shaping meaningful projects and driving innovation.

By joining us, you’ll accelerate your personal and professional development through hands-on experience with cutting-edge cloud solutions. You’ll learn directly from experts while contributing to some of the UK’s most ambitious cloud programmes, gaining exposure and influence you wouldn’t find in a larger consultancy.

Role Purpose

This is a graduate engineering role for people who want to build a career in AI, data, and cloud. You will join Cloudscaler as an Associate Engineer, working on live problems from the start and developing towards SFIA Level 3 across core engineering skills within your first year. SFIA is the Skills Framework for the Information Age, the industry standard we use to measure engineering capability.

You will start alongside a graduate entry cohort and share the same in-person onboarding: our Welcome to Cloudscaler and Consulting Skills sessions. From day one you build your network and your consulting craft with peers going through the same experience. Your development is structured around real delivery, mentoring, and company-sponsored certifications.

How will you be supported

You will not be left to figure it out alone. You will have several lines of support working together.

  • A line manager who owns your day-to-day work and your development.

  • A dedicated mentor for pastoral support, separate from your line manager, so you always have someone in your corner.

  • An executive project sponsor (CCO, CRO, CPO, or COO) who oversees the scope and quality of your first project.

  • A cohort you onboard alongside, including our Level 6 apprentices, so you have peers from the start.

  • A funded route to certification for both AWS and Anthropic industry standard qualifications ensuring your career gets off on the right track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build AI agents: design, prototype, and deploy agentic solutions using Python, large language models (LLMs), and AWS services, guided by experienced engineers.

  • Work with data: prepare and integrate data from internal systems, and evaluate rigorously whether your solutions actually work.

  • Ship to a standard: move solutions from prototype towards production, with proper testing, monitoring, and documentation.

  • Write like a professional: produce clear technical documentation, decision records, and status updates.

  • Work commercially: record your time accurately, work in Agile and Kanban rhythms, and take part in stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Use AI well: use Claude in your day-to-day work, and learn when to trust AI output and when to verify it. That judgement matters even more in regulated settings.

Required Experience

  • Degree: a strong degree (preferably 2:1 or above, or a Master’s) in Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.

  • Aptitude: solid programming ability, ideally in Python, and a real interest in AI, data, and cloud engineering.

  • Motivation: the drive to build a professional engineering career and the discipline to develop quickly on live work.

  • Behaviours: clear, honest communication, a collaborative attitude, and the willingness to ask for help and act on feedback.

  • Security clearance: you must be eligible for, and willing to undergo, Developed Vetting (DV). We run the checks when you join. DV carries UK nationality and residency requirements, so you will need to meet those to be considered.

What will make you stand out

  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs or AI agent frameworks, even from study or personal projects.

  • Exposure to Python, a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, or Linux.

  • Evidence that you finish what you start: a project, a dissertation, or a side interest pursued to a good standard.

  • An interest in how AI is used responsibly in settings where you cannot take outputs at face value.

Benefits

  • Discretionary bonus

  • Discretionary security clearance bonus for those holding certain clearance

  • Periodic offer of share options schemes

  • 25 days’ annual leave

  • 5 additional days per year towards training, certifications, or charity work

  • Option to buy additional annual leave up to 5 days per year

  • Public holidays opt-out scheme, the option to work on public holidays creating the flexibility to enjoy your time off when it suits you

  • Certifications and training expensed
