POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for protecting company assets (associates, customers, merchandise, cash, and property) from safety risks, loss, and shrinkage in assigned store(s).  Protection of assets defined by creating a culture of integrity and safety, supporting Store Management and Field Leadership when dealing with conflicts, and prevention of dishonesty both internal and external through proactive process execution and customer service.  Provide a leadership role in Asset Protection, Safety and Physical Security for assigned APS team and applicable stores.  Aide the RAPM and store teams in hiring, training, and managing the APS team. Oversight of third-party security guard program and post order execution.  Responsible for effective and confidential investigations into all loss and safety related concerns within the district(s). Assist with inventory preparation, execution and any other regional needs as assigned.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide a safe and secure environment for our customers and associates
• Support Store and Field Management in dealing with any instance of aggressive or hostile behavior displayed within their assigned store, maintaining all Five Below standards in such dealings utilizing de-escalation techniques. 
• After full training and certification, conduct external & internal investigations with regards to theft/fraud.  Responsibility to follow all company policies and protocol regarding dealing with individuals suspected of theft/fraud/policy violations.
• Utilization of AP systems to include but not limited to Agilence Exception Base Reporting, CCTV, Alarm, Over/Short Cash, and Incident Reporting.                               
• Liaison with local/municipal, state/provincial, federal law enforcement agencies, and government agencies on criminal cases and/or governmental compliance issues.
• Monitor and report suspicious associate behaviors/activities to District Manager and RAPM.
• Participate in District/Regional visits to increase collaboration and improve awareness of Total Loss and operational compliance.
• Lead AP New Hire Orientation and AP awareness and safety training efforts. 
• Inspect physical security measures in the stores to provide a safe and secure work environment. 

• Assist Store Manager, District Manager and RAPM in managing, coaching, and leading the APS team in assigned locations.
• Partnership with HR/Leadership Team as required on crew and customer issues, safety concerns, ethics, workplace violence, and other sensitive matters.
• Delivery of expected shrink results in the stores through use of AP Resources.
• Perform monthly Operational Assessments and communication of results. 
• Report audit findings to leadership team, assist in developing corrective plans and re-audit non-compliant controls as necessary. 
• When applicable supervise all Security personnel associated within the stores.                      
• Utilize Agilence exception base reporting system to identify potential process and procedural concerns.
• Participate in regular scheduled inventory process.
• Monitor and respond to any safety or regulatory concerns in assigned stores.  

Education and Experience:

• 2+ years of similar experience in Loss Prevention/Asset Protection or physical security & safety environment.
• Experience in customer service and/or interacting directly with customers.
• AA or BA Degree a plus.
• Communication skills & ability to provide regular and concise updates.
• Knowledge of investigative processes.
• CCTV system use and knowledge.
• Experience with Safety in retail establishments.
• Wicklander & Zulawski certification a plus or willingness to participate in training.
• Exception base reporting experience is a plus or willingness to learn.
