DuPont is seeking an Application Development Engineer to support our MULTIBASE™ product line. In this highly visible, customer-focused role, you will provide technical expertise across product development, application support, processing technologies, testing to industry standards, and troubleshooting. You will play a key role in driving customer success, identifying product improvement opportunities, strengthening the competitive position of existing offerings, and contributing to new product development initiatives.

As a trusted technical partner, you will collaborate closely with regional business teams and work across a global network of technical, manufacturing, sales, and marketing professionals, as well as distributors, customers, and strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

• Provide technical support and exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving product and application challenges.
• Partner with customers to generate and interpret technical data required for product qualification and approval in targeted applications.
• Develop and deliver product training and support the creation of technical literature and application resources.

Customer Engagement

• Build strong customer relationships by understanding needs, gathering feedback, and delivering tailored technical solutions.
• Serve as a technical ambassador for MULTIBASE™, leading presentations, customer meetings, and on-site technical engagements.
• Support product qualification activities and ensure compliance with relevant customer and industry standards.

Documentation & Technical Analysis

• Maintain accurate documentation of test results, procedures, and customer interactions to ensure traceability and compliance.
• Conduct analytical, experimental, and investigative work to address customer challenges and support product performance.
• Provide technical insight into material composition, processing, and performance relationships to guide solution development.

Troubleshooting & Quality Management

• Lead the investigation and resolution of product and application performance issues, implementing effective corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities.

Collaboration

• Actively contribute to cross-functional project teams and participate in the global technical network to share knowledge and best practices.
• Support site initiatives related to safety, quality, and product stewardship.

Industry Leadership

• Build and demonstrate technical expertise through internal reports, technical publications, industry seminars, and conference presentations.
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, regulations, and standards related to thermoplastics and polymer applications.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience supporting product development, applications, processing technologies, testing to industry standards, and technical problem solving.
• Strong understanding of thermoplastic processing technologies, including compounding, injection molding, and extrusion, as well as polymer materials, formulations, and silicone-based compounds.
• Demonstrated experience in a TS&D, applications development, or customer-facing technical role.
• Experience in thermoplastic compounding, from formulation development through manufacturing scale-up.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
• Proven project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across commercial, manufacturing, and technical teams to achieve customer and business objectives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems such as SAP.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% to support customers and business needs.
