Role Summary

The Corporate Accounting team’s responsibility is to ensure accurate accounting and reporting under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and company policies. This position will support and manage various financial reporting, fund accounting and other accounting services carried out by the team in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

Job Requirements
Education
At least B.Com graduate; M.Com, MBAs in Finance, inter ICWAs or inter CAs preferred
Relevant Experience
• 4+ years’ experience in financial accounting; real estate accounting, or property accounting a plus
• Hands-on General Ledger and Sub ledger Accounting experience

Technical Know-how/Tools used
To be updated once technical competency framework is finalized
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a plus
• Expertise in MS Office, Excel specifically is a must

Roles & Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
1. Oversee and perform the timely completion of the monthly accounting close for corporate entities of Pretium
2. Ensure completeness and accuracy of general ledger accounts prepared by Corporate Accounting team
3. Support month end closings, including the preparation of complex accounting entries and reconciliations
4. Review prepared financial statements such as Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Accounts, Trial Balances etc. to ensure compliance with the accounting standards
5. Prepare and input wires for various bank accounts
6. Record general ledger adjustments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements
7. Oversee investigations and reconciliations of bank and other accounts as necessary for any discrepancies
8. Perform detailed financial analysis comparing results to past periods and adequately explain key variances
9. Ensure proper accounting procedure is followed for fixed asset acquisition, transfer, impairment, write-off and disposal
10. Identify Fixed Assets transactions and record capitalization and depreciation entries based on accounting policy
11. Ensure timely closing of month-end books
12. Identify and deliver process excellence and continuous improvement with focus on Accounting related operational activities
13. Provide adequate support to auditors (internal/external) and address various audit inquiries as needed
14. Conduct and oversee process improvement initiatives, including automation
15. Implement successful intercompany transition of activity from local entities into central finance function
16. Perform such other accounting related functions that may be assigned from time to time

Stakeholder Management
1. Provide pro-active updates and analyses to senior management
2. Support periodic and ad hoc information requests, analysis, or reports from management and other teams
3. Engage key stakeholders and internal customers to ensure expectations are clearly defined and are being met in accordance with organization requirements

Governance & Compliance
1. Develop, document, implement and manage accounting processes, controls and systems to ensure appropriate level of internal control
2. Support development and implementation of all accounting policies & procedures in compliance with company policy and applicable accounting standards
3. Support company growth and process improvement initiatives while maintaining a high standard of quality and effective internal controls
4. Establish proper records, approvals, documentation and audit trails for all transactions
