POSITION SUMMARY
eGenesis, Inc is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to execute the day-to-day functions during a pivotal period of growth. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process. This highly visible role will use strong organizational skills and attention to detail to identify and implement operational decisions with accounting implications. The ideal candidate combines strong technical GAAP knowledge with hands-on execution, thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and is energized by building scalable processes from the ground up. This is a full-time role based in Cambridge, MA.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the end-to-end financial close process, including general ledger, accounts payables, and accruals, delivering accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP
Account for R&D expenses, clinical trial accruals and prepaids, and CRO vendor arrangements, coordinating closely with clinical and operations teams to estimate accruals
Help design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in preparation for SOX compliance and public-company requirements
Support preparation and maintenance of financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring disclosures are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
Manager Senior Accountant, fostering a high-performance team environment
Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment appropriate for a company operating under public company accounting standards
Manage NetSuite as the system of record, partnering with FP&A on chart of accounts governance, reporting configuration, and process improvements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience
Public company accounting experience preferred, including demonstrated ownership of monthly close process under public company reporting timelines
Biotech or life sciences industry experience required; familiarity with clinical-stage accounting (CRO accrual methodology, collaboration agreement) strongly preferred
Hands-on proficiency with NetSuite required
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-changing environment
Base pay range for this job is $120,000 - $154,000.
