Account Director – European Insurance
Company: LexisNexis Risk Solutions
Location: Karlsruhe, Germany / Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
About the Role
LexisNexis Risk Solutions is looking for an experienced Account Director – European Insurance to drive the growth of our global data, analytics and SaaS solutions across the European insurance market.
In this senior commercial role, you will be responsible for developing new business and expanding strategic relationships with insurers across Europe. Initially, the focus will be primarily on the motor insurance sector, with the opportunity to broaden our footprint into additional insurance lines and adjacent risk use cases over time.
You will work with some of Europe's leading insurers, engaging senior stakeholders across underwriting, pricing, claims, actuarial, data, product, innovation and technology. Your role will be to understand their business challenges and demonstrate how LexisNexis Risk Solutions' global capabilities — including SaaS, vehicle and insurance data, analytics and data-enrichment solutions — can support better risk decisions and business outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven insurance professional who enjoys building markets, developing senior client relationships and managing complex enterprise sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the sale of LexisNexis Risk Solutions products and services into targeted European insurance markets, with an initial emphasis on motor insurers.
Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans, identifying priority markets, target insurers, key decision-makers and revenue opportunities.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business and expansion opportunities to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Manage the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through solution positioning, proposals, negotiation and contracting to implementation handover and ongoing commercial governance.
Develop trusted, senior-level relationships with stakeholders across underwriting, pricing, product, claims, actuarial, fraud, data, innovation, procurement and technology, including C-suite and executive decision-makers.
Position LNRS global products, SaaS capabilities, vehicle-focused solutions, data and analytics in line with each insurer's operating model, strategic priorities and business challenges.
Work with clients to identify and develop relevant use cases across quoting, underwriting, pricing, portfolio management, claims, fraud prevention, customer experience and operational efficiency.
Partner closely with Product, Analytics, Data Acquisition, Legal, Compliance, Implementation and Market Development teams to build commercially and technically viable client solutions.
Conduct structured Voice of Customer activities to understand evolving client needs, product requirements, competitive dynamics and barriers to adoption.
Translate market and customer insights into recommendations for product development, proposition strategy and future growth opportunities across European insurance.
Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, account and market information through CRM and agreed sales governance processes.
Act as the commercial lead for assigned European insurer opportunities, coordinating internal stakeholders around client priorities, pricing, contractual requirements and implementation timelines.
Represent LexisNexis Risk Solutions at relevant European insurance, automotive, data and technology events.
Continuously build knowledge of European insurance markets, regulatory developments, vehicle-data propositions and emerging opportunities beyond motor insurance.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for an accomplished B2B sales professional with a strong understanding of the insurance industry and a track record of developing complex, high-value enterprise relationships.
You will ideally bring:
Significant experience in enterprise sales, strategic account management or business development within insurance, InsurTech, data, analytics, SaaS or a related technology environment.
Strong knowledge of the European insurance market, ideally including motor insurance.
A proven track record of winning and growing complex enterprise accounts and delivering against ambitious revenue targets.
Experience selling SaaS, data, analytics, risk, enrichment or technology solutions to insurers.
Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and C-suite decision-makers.
Strong commercial acumen and experience navigating complex procurement, negotiation and contracting processes.
The ability to translate sophisticated data and technology propositions into clear business value and measurable client outcomes.
A consultative and solution-oriented sales approach with excellent discovery, presentation and negotiation skills.
Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in developing new markets and propositions.
Excellent English communication skills; additional European languages would be highly advantageous.
Willingness to travel across Europe as required.
