Über diese 1749 - Threat System SME Stelle bei Sigma Defense

Sigma Defense · Vor Ort · Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, United States

Sigma Defense is seeking a Threat Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as a technical and operational authority on threat systems, threat representation, and their application within the test and training community. This position requires a deep-rooted background within the Intelligence Community (IC), combined with a strong understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) systems, threat effects, threat characteristics, and the methods used to accurately represent those threats in operational test and training environments.

The SME will serve as a critical liaison between customers requesting threat support and the organizations responsible for developing, providing, or operating the required threat representations. A key component of this role is the ability to work with customers who may understand their operational objective but may not know precisely what threat capability, representation, or technical solution is required. The SME must be able to translate ambiguous or incomplete requirements into clearly defined technical solutions and guide those requirements from initial concept through coordination, development, integration, and final delivery.

Success in this position requires more than technical expertise. The Threat Systems SME must be able to understand the customer's operational objective, determine what is technically required to achieve it, and bring together the appropriate intelligence, engineering, threat, test, and training organizations to deliver an effective solution.

The individual serves as the connective element between customer intent, intelligence-based threat understanding, technical threat representation, and final execution. The ability to turn an unclear requirement into a technically credible and executable threat solution is a defining responsibility of this role.

Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled: Sigma Defense Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of of extensive professional experience with threat systems, intelligence analysis, threat characterization, threat representation, or related technical disciplines.
  • Significant background supporting or working within the Intelligence Community.
  • Strong technical understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) systems and their application to threat systems and threat representation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of threat representation requirements within Department of Defense test, evaluation, experimentation, and/or training environments.
  • Ability to interpret intelligence and technical information and translate it into practical, executable threat representation requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to take incomplete, ambiguous, or poorly defined customer requirements and develop technically sound solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical experts, operators, customers, program managers, government leadership, and senior decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop professional technical reports, assessments, recommendations, and executive-level briefings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work across multiple organizations and technical disciplines.
  • Ability to independently manage complex requirements while coordinating with multiple stakeholders from initial request through final product delivery.
  • Sound professional judgment and the ability to operate effectively in environments involving sensitive or classified threat information.
  • Threat Systems Expertise: Possesses authoritative knowledge of relevant threat systems, capabilities, characteristics, and operational employment.
  • RF & Threat Representation: Understands RF principles, threat effects, emitters, and the technical considerations necessary to develop credible threat representations for test and training.
  • Requirements Translation: Excels at transforming loosely defined customer objectives into clear, technically executable requirements.
  • Technical Integration: Connects intelligence, engineering, operational, test, and training perspectives to develop solutions that satisfy the customer's intended objective.
  • Customer Engagement: Ability to work directly with customers to understand what they are ultimately trying to accomplish—not simply what they initially request—and develops solutions accordingly.
  • Liaison & Coordination: Ability to effectively bridge the gap between the requesting organization and the organizations responsible for producing, integrating, or delivering threat capabilities.
  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate highly technical and complex information clearly and confidently in both written and verbal formats across all organizational levels.
  • Technical Leadership: Leads technical discussions, identifies gaps and risks, recommends solutions, and provides informed guidance throughout the threat-support lifecycle.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • A clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Serve as the organization's Subject Matter Expert for threat systems, threat representation, and associated test and training applications.
  • Apply extensive Intelligence Community experience and threat knowledge to ensure threat representations are technically credible, operationally relevant, and appropriately aligned with customer objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding RF systems, emitters, threat characteristics, effects, capabilities, limitations, and representative threat environments.
  • Understand the relationship between intelligence-derived threat information and the development of appropriate threat representations for test, evaluation, experimentation, and training activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers requesting threat support and organizations responsible for developing, providing, integrating, or operating threat representations.
  • Engage customers to identify the underlying operational or technical objective when requirements are incomplete, ambiguous, or not fully defined.
  • Translate complex or obscure customer requests into clear, actionable technical requirements and recommended solutions.
  • Evaluate available threat representation capabilities and recommend the most appropriate solution based on customer objectives, technical requirements, test or training conditions, schedule, and available resources.
  • Coordinate threat support requirements from initial customer engagement through planning, technical coordination, execution, and final delivery of the threat product or capability.
  • Facilitate technical discussions among intelligence professionals, engineers, program managers, test personnel, operators, leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex threat and RF concepts in a manner appropriate for audiences ranging from highly technical personnel to senior leadership and non-technical customers.
  • Identify technical, programmatic, or operational gaps that could affect the fidelity or effectiveness of threat representation and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and deliver technical reports, threat assessments, recommendations, briefings, presentations, and other documentation supporting customer and organizational requirements.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, planning conferences, test and training working groups, program reviews, and customer engagements.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving threat systems, technologies, capabilities, and intelligence assessments relevant to current and future test and training requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships across the Intelligence Community, test and evaluation organizations, training organizations, threat providers, engineering organizations, and supported customer activities.
