About the Role 

As a MEP Manager within the capital projects construction team, this role acts as an Owner’s side stakeholder in the development, procurement and delivery of the MEP systems for our projects and operations. You will act as the critical conduit between Yondr and the various construction contractors and vendors, ensuring continual, proactive communication is maintained to ensure all contract requirements are met at every stage of the project.  You will be a highly visible representative of Yondr, expected to uphold our culture in the performance of your job duties.

You will also take an active part in the strategic technical initiatives, development of standard specifications, QA / QC procedures and continuous improvements. This role will bring technical expertise and experience with the ability to think differently, challenge tradition and offer innovation and evolution to Yondr’s unconstrained technical solutions.

Main Responsibilities 

• Manage contractors and vendors in the delivery, inspection, installation, and commissioning of MEP systems in alignment with the contract documents and operational requirements.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects. Act as site lead for the project, to include non-MEP scopes, as assigned.
• Provide technical leadership and coordination of all parties to ensure successful completion of construction objectives.
• Oversee the integration of MEP systems with other critical infrastructure (e.g., BMS, power, HVAC, fire suppression, and security systems).
• Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and internal teams to maintain schedule milestones.
• Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
• Verify that the correct processes, procedures and documentation is being utilized.
• Production of formal project status reports and other periodic reports as required.
• Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews
• Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Assist with RFIs from the contractors and coordinate involvement with other parties as needed.
• Provide technical expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.
• Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Client management – assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
• Maintain positive relationships with the community as needed to successfully meet project objectives. This includes local AHJ officials, inspectors, residents, businesses and adjacent construction projects.
• Strategic Thinking - provide advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
• Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured.
• Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
• Conduct yourself in a professional, positive, proactive and collaborative manner always.

Qualifications and experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or field related to construction, OR relevant experience directly related to mission critical construction delivery with an emphasis on electrical or mechanical scopes.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience on US based construction projects.
• Strong organizational and management skills. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, vendors, suppliers and government entities.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Project, Procore, Bluebeam and similar construction project management tools.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written. Effective presentation skills.
• Experience with analyzing construction CPM schedules.
• Proven ability to make judgement calls in the field as required to manage the construction.
• An assertive leader. Able to lead meetings, foster cohesion and drive accountability.
• Deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, controls systems and associated installation sequences and best practices.
• Ability to lead all phases of building commissioning (L2-L5).
• High competent at reading MEP plans, specifications, diagrams, instructions and safety materials.

About the Role

Utilities Manager champions design quality, value engineering, risk mitigation, commissioning readiness, and seamless handoff to construction and operations, while upholding customer expectations for uptime, resiliency, speed to delivery, and total cost of ownership. The Utilities Manager serves as the central link between Development and Design/Construction teams, driving the design process from early concept through project handover. This role ensures that every design decision reflects customer, stakeholder, and operational needs—captured, evaluated, and translated into contract documents that enable predictable, high-quality delivery. This key position requires a highly organized, proactive, and resourceful individual who can collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization to optimize engineering, design, construction, and procurement processes, drive efficiency, and enhance business performance.

Travel is expected to be up to 25% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist with Utility Relationship Management: Co-own relationship with current and potential utility partners. Understand the utility partner’s organization, energy programs, and lead regular leadership exchanges.  
• IPP Agreement Oversight: In coordination with Energy operations, manage and oversee agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), ensuring that contracts align with the company’s energy procurement goals and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• On Site Power Generation & Storage: In coordination with Global Design and Construction, evaluate OSPG and storage options for long term power needs, bridging solutions, and or grid services. 
• Market Analysis and Strategy: Monitor and analyze energy markets, regulatory changes, identifying trends and opportunities that inform the company’s long-term power strategies.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on power regional power strategy, including origination, utilities/IPP management, & regulatory changes, ensuring that the company’s power infrastructure is delivered on time, reliably, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Project Oversight: Contribute to power strategy for new and existing developments from origination through energization and ongoing relationships with power providers. 
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, and finance, to ensure alignment on power-related initiatives and goals.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with power procurement, utility connections, and IPP agreements, ensuring the company’s energy needs are met without compromising on quality or cost-effectiveness.
• Is a subject matter expert to others in and outside of the group. Extensive knowledge of multiple facets of the relevant engineering discipline

• Collaborate with Finance and Procurement personnel to develop and manage budgets, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and cost control.
• Ensure lessons learned at a project level are documented and placed in the feedback loop for continuous improvement at a program level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Manage RFI resolution, design clarifications, change controls, drawing revisions, and design risk escalations
• Manage design consultants, AE firms, specialty vendors, and technical stakeholders to deliver full drawings, specifications, calculations, BIM models, and design basis documentation
• Project Development/Management: Proven experience leading multiple complex projects related to energy infrastructure and procurement. This includes that ability to influence internally and externally. Project kickoff documentation, scheduling, risk register, design logs, change tracking, and executive reporting cadence

Qualifications and experience

Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in power origination, utilities connection agreements, relationship management, data center development, project planning with significant experience in Transmission/Distribution engineering and construction.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in energy management or project management preferred. Applicable real-world experience in wholesale or retail power markets will also be considered.
