About the Role

Our Marketing team prides itself on using a first principles approach to unlock new ways of scaling revenue. Using operations and engineering to overcome obstacles and scale/automate processes, we experiment where most marketing teams fall short. As a Marketing Automation Manager on the team, you will own the systems and processes that power marketing campaigns and directly accelerate revenue growth.

What You’ll Do

Marketing Operations
- Serve as the operational backbone for 20+ demand generation marketers running multi-region campaigns.
- Own and optimize lead ingestion, enrichment, routing, and lifecycle management—ensuring sales receives high-quality leads, quickly and efficiently.
- Champion marketing ops best practices and scale-friendly infrastructure, driving adoption of tools and processes across the organization.
- Partner cross-functionally with sales, engineering, analytics, and brand to align campaign execution with business goals.
Campaign Execution & Enablement
- Own everything from day-to-day campaign execution to scaling campaign operations for a fast-growing, multi-region team.
- Translate campaign requirements into scalable systems workflows, reducing manual steps and eliminating operational friction.
- Build infrastructure to support campaign performance monitoring, attribution, and insights via automation and reporting tools.
- Act as the go-to expert for tools like Marketo/Hubspot and Salesforce—supporting program setup, lead flows, integrations, and field mappings.
Technical Ownership
- Design and maintain ETL pipelines to support real-time campaign logic, reporting, and data quality initiatives using SQL, Python, and other tools.
- Build scalable automations and integrations across MarTech tools using Workato, AWS, Retool, APIs, and more.
- Manage complex workflows and integrations for webinars, demos, and intent-triggered campaigns.
- Monitor lead flow and pipeline health using BI tools (e.g. Looker) to identify issues and drive campaign optimizations.

What You Bring

5+ years in Software Engineering, Marketing Technology, Business Systems, or Revenue Operations, ideally in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
Hands-on experience with Marketo (or HubSpot) and Salesforce, including building automations, integrations, and managing lifecycle flows.
Expertise in marketing infrastructure, including web form ingestion, API-based lead capture, enrichment tools (e.g. Clearbit), and real-time follow-up logic.
Advanced SQL skills and working knowledge of Python; experienced in building or maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
Strong experience with automation/integration platforms (e.g. Zapier, Workato, Retool, AWS Lambda).
Process-oriented mindset with experience managing campaign ops at scale.
Excellent communication and documentation skills. You can explain complex systems clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial mentality with a drive to experiment, iterate, and extract the most yield out of the funnel.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).

Estimated Annual Pay Range

$140,000—$200,000 USD

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Growth Engineering team, you will be at the forefront of developing and sustaining the vital growth infrastructure at Verkada. What You'll Do

Design and implement reliable and observable infrastructure that will help power Verkada's growth engine.
Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of backend systems to process the purchase journey and optimize automated workflows.
Build a complex multivariate experimentation infrastructure to improve the marketing funnel's efficiency.
Ensure the seamless integration of new technologies and platforms with existing infrastructure.
Work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Product, teams to translate complex business requirements, define feature specifications and implement them to provide end users with a better product experience.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar degree).
3+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role using backend technologies (python or similar language).
Experience owning software architecture and API design.
Ability to learn new systems / technologies quickly. Big plus if you enjoy proactively experimenting with new technologies and approaching traditional business challenges with unique engineering ideas.
Ability and strong interest in communicating cross-functionally with non-technical stakeholders to derive requirements and architect solutions without a PM.
Experience shipping large-scale, highly visible, external facing features/products is a plus.

As the leader of the marketing operations team, you will hire and manage a team of high-performing builders who can take ambiguous problems and build solutions that stand the test of time. This role will report into our Senior Director of Growth Engineering.

What You'll Do

Hire and manage a higher performance marketing operations team that can scale to multiple teams long-term (including campaign ops, architecture, data cleanliness and so on).
You’ll be the point person for all demand generation campaign operations and new implementations.
You’ll oversee the strategy and acquisition of our marketing tools, workflows, and automations required to scale our new lead acquisition methods.
You’ll obsess over the operations of our lead ingestion to maximize the efficiency of every lead.
You’ll build advanced automations via platforms such as Workato/AWS/Retool/etc that will work with existing sales/marketing platforms like Marketo/Salesforce to achieve a higher level of operational efficiency.
You'll become obsessed with ensuring everything within your sphere of influence is completely automated and designed for scale.
Research, negotiate and purchase net-new software tools that can help drive impact with a skeptical yet experimental mindset.
Build a waterfall process to maximize the purchase of these net new leads from databases while minimizing cost and enrich leads with missing data needed for proper routing in our 20M+ contact database.
This role is highly cross-functional: you’ll work with executives, operations, engineering, analytics, brand, sales, and more to improve marketing campaigns, prioritize projects, and ensure alignment.

What You Bring

7-15 years of operations / engineering / marketing operations / product management or relevant experience.
Strong ability to take ambiguous problems and architect hacky and scalable solutions by integrating pre-built tools like Workato or engineering with low-code software.
Strong ability to operationalize processes at scale.
Strong ability to negotiate and manage multiple vendors simultaneously.
Impeccable analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills.
Experience working with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-moving startup or a hyper growth environment.
Experience with SQL, ETL/data pipelines, excel, and BI Tools (Looker or equivalent in order to properly query data sets for data cleanliness or email campaigns) highly preferred.
Big plus if you have an entrepreneurial hacker’s mentality and are energized by finding novel ways to drive revenue.
