Vast is looking for a Subcontracts Specialist, Indirect, reporting to the Director of Indirect Supply Chain, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

• Develop category specific strategies for Indirect (Facilities, Capital Equipment and Services) to deliver high quality and low cost solutions for Vast Operations and Manufacturing Customers.
• Interface with key Vast Customers including Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering and and senior leadership to understand the strategic direction, capital requirements and business priorities.
• Manage the procurement process – RFI/RFQ/RFPs, negotiations, etc. – for Indirect projects.  Scope includes managing supplier planning and execution, coordination, contract preparation, negotiation and execution.
• Directly manage suppliers for Indirect spend (including equipment, engineering & design, and construction), category through supplier scorecards, quarterly business reviews; measuring contract compliance and other key metrics to ensure targets/ schedules are being met and value is being delivered to the business.
• Ensure all sourcing activities are conducted in accordance with proper procedures and protocols. Track execution to sourcing and procuring plans for all projects per cost and timeline.
• Seek alternate and innovative ideas to provide business solutions, challenge requirements and specifications to create competitive advantage.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Familiarity and experience in negotiating contracts and terms and conditions, specifically AIA Agreements.
• Experience in all aspects of the Indirect Procurement process, from demand identification through fulfillment.
• Associates degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Bachelors degree Science degree in Business or Engineering discipline.
• Experience with subcontracts, purchasing or contracts within an aerospace environment.
• Negotiation skills with contracts exceeding $1 million with tight deadline requirements .
• Experience in conducting presentations to senior leadership.

Vast is looking for a Demand Planner, reporting to the Manager of Demand Planning, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. 

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee demand, supply, and fulfillment planning for avionics and electronic hardware, including EEE components, PCBs, PCBAs, and related commodities.
• Foster strong collaboration with internal stakeholders—Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and Mission Management—to align planning processes with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Develop and implement key performance metrics (KPIs) to effectively track material actions, identify risks, and highlight opportunities for improvement across electronic component lifecycles.
• Ensure accuracy and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs), part records, and master data, particularly for EEE components, circuit boards, assemblies, and other Avionics products to support streamlined procurement and production.
• Establish and leverage commodity lead times and part availability data to enhance design release processes and minimize supply chain disruptions across critical avionics hardware.
• Drive timely release of procurement planning messages and ensure efficient coordination with suppliers for long-lead components.
• Ensure on-time issuance of work orders to production and purchase orders to procurement, supporting seamless manufacturing and supply chain operations.
• Serve as a key resource in Clear-to-Build and Material Readiness meetings, providing accurate material availability insights and resolving electronic component constraints.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Significant experience working with BOMs and understanding their integration across ERP/MRP/PLM/MES systems.

Vast is looking for a Senior Buyer reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Management, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

• End-to-End Commodity Management: Manage assigned commodities from demand to contract fulfillment.
• Strategic & Tactical Execution: Apply sourcing and supplier management expertise across all organizational levels.
• Supply Base Development: Optimize the supply base to meet long-term program needs.
• Cost and Risk Reduction Strategy: Develop strategies to reduce total cost, lead time, and supply chain risk.
• Supplier Research & Negotiation: Conduct market research, assess suppliers, issue RFQs/RFPs, and lead contract negotiations.
• Integrated Sourcing Strategy: Align sourcing with program, customer, product lifecycle, and in-service support strategies.
• Supplier Performance Management: Oversee supply/demand planning, schedule adherence, quality, on-time delivery, and cost for suppliers.

Vast is looking for a  Driver - Inventory Control, reporting to the Manager, Inventory Control, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. 

This role will support inter-building deliveries across the VAST Long Beach and is responsible for transporting materials, parts, and equipment between nearby facilities (within a ~3-mile radius) to support day-to-day operations. This position plays a key role in keeping teams supplied, production moving, and materials accurately tracked across locations.

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach and surrounding Vast locations. 

Responsibilities: 

• Transport materials, components, and equipment between VAST buildings on scheduled and on-demand routes
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of items across sites (all within close proximity)
• Safely load, secure, and unload materials to prevent damage
• Lift, move, and handle materials (typically up to 50 lbs, occasionally more with assistance)
• Use equipment such as carts, dollies, and pallet jacks as needed
• Support basic staging and organization of materials at pickup and drop-off points
• Use VAST’s inventory tracking system (Manufacturo) to scan and track all material movements
• Verify part numbers, quantities, and locations before and after transport
• Maintain accurate, real-time updates to ensure inventory integrity across buildings
• Work closely with production, warehouse, and operations teams to prioritize deliveries
• Communicate delays, discrepancies, or urgent requests in a timely manner
• Support quick-turn and just-in-time material movements as needed
• Follow all company safety policies and site-specific driving protocols
• Conduct basic vehicle checks (brakes, lights, tires, etc.) before use
