The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support daily manufacturing operations for our cfDNA-based diagnostic assay platform. This entry-level position is ideal for a detail-oriented, hands-on individual eager to learn in a fast-paced, regulated biotech environment. You will play a vital role in executing production tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality and compliance across manufacturing workflows.

How you’ll contribute: 

• Execute routine manufacturing activities in compliance with established SOPs and batch records.
• Prepare reagents, buffers, and consumables according to specifications.
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory and production equipment per defined schedules.
• Record all data accurately and maintain complete, traceable documentation in accordance with GMP standards.
• Perform basic calibration checks and assist with preventive maintenance programs.
• Promptly report equipment issues or maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Complete all documentation following GDP (Good Documentation Practice) and GMP requirements.
• Ensure all entries are legible, dated, and verified where required.
• Support audit readiness and contribute to maintaining compliant laboratory environments.
• Adhere to biosafety, chemical safety, and PPE requirements at all times.
• Follow QMS procedures to maintain high product quality and data integrity.
• Immediately escalate deviations, non-conformances, or safety concerns for resolution with Quality and Operations.
• Communicate task progress, delays, or issues clearly to supervisors.
• Collaborate with peers to maintain smooth production flow and continuous improvement.
• Participate in departmental meetings, training, and improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented culture.

What you’ll bring:

• BS degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, laboratory, or process engineering.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques, aseptic practices, and documentation standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures accurately.
• Exposure to reagent or diagnostic kit manufacturing, liquid handling, or scale-up operations.
• Reliable, organized, and committed to learning in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive and proactive attitude with strong teamwork skills.
• Effective communicator with solid problem-solving and time management abilities.

The Opportunity:

Universal Diagnostics (UDx) is seeking a Molecular Technologist to join our Lab Operations Team in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. In this role, you will perform a range of molecular techniques, including whole blood processing, DNA/cfDNA extraction, PCR, and Next-Generation Sequencing. You will also support equipment maintenance and sample tracking to ensure efficient and reliable lab operations as we continue to scale the UDx Signal-C assay.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including assay development, automation, bioinformatics, and quality to support ongoing lab execution and study work.

Universal DX is seeking a Technical Lead to join our growing Lab Ops team. In this role, you will work closely with the Lab Operations, Product Development, and Quality teams to ensure technical rigor and standardized execution of complex molecular workflows within the laboratory. You will play a key role in providing hands-on technical oversight during critical assay steps, review metrics, and ensuring adherence to SOP-driven processes on the laboratory floor. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of a robust laboratory training program to ensure consistency, competency, and scalability across the laboratory team.

How you’ll contribute:

• Technical oversight of NGS assay execution and ensure generation of high quality NGS data
• Review in process QC results and confirm adherence to established acceptance criteria.
• Ensure consistent execution of approved assay parameters across all operators
• Assist laboratory operators in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in real time
• Partner with Assay Development to support implementation of protocol updates within the laboratory.
• Develop and implement a structured training plan for all laboratory operators. Develop and implement a competency assessment plan for all laboratory operators.
• Assist with workflow coordination and prioritization within the laboratory.
• Promote continuous improvement in execution quality and process consistency.

What you’ll bring:

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related technical field preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8-10 years of molecular laboratory experience in biotech, diagnostics, pharma, clinical, or regulated environments, including 5+ years of hands-on NGS experience.
• Prior experience with processing samples using automated NGS workflows is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot NGS workflow issues and maintain process consistency.
• Prior experience in reinforcing adherence to SOP-driven laboratory practices and quality standards in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Proven experience in training and mentoring lab operators in the execution of NGS assays.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities.
