About the job
The Twilio Presales Engineer is both highly technical and a skilled executive relationship builder. They are comfortable showing an engaging communications experience to a CEO or sketching out a flow on a whiteboard with technical decision makers. This position is needed to deliver the technical win and product fit to our customers across the EMEA region. A Twilio Communications Solutions Engineer is an experienced pre-sales engineer who builds customer trust in Twilio’s Customer Engagement Platform.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Work alongside Twilio New business Account Executives, other Twilio Solutions Engineers, Professional Services and Twilio Partners as needed through the pre-sales process, to strategise and plan for deal success.
- Build a successful business partnership with Twilio Account Executives focussing on great business discovery within prospects and communicating the business value of Twilio solutions.
- Take part alongside Account Executives in qualification, discovery, demonstrations, Proof-of-Concept, RFP response, design documentation, technical presentations and enablement sessions during the sales cycle.
- Develop subject matter expertise on the customer needs and requirements, and Twilio’s best in class communications technology.
- Lead technical discovery sessions with our customers to uncover their needs and challenges to articulate Twilio’s ability to enable their success and solve their challenges.
- Build and present powerful and complex presentations and product demos to help showcase the capabilities of Twilio Communications Products.
- Form an understanding of a customers business and help solve problems they’ve identified as well as uncover areas of opportunity.
- Build trusted advisor relationships at the highest levels of our customers and present creative new solutions and architectures that enable and inspire innovation
- Contribute to the wider Twilio Solutions Engineer community by sharing knowledge, building demo assets and reusable presentations.

*Required:
- At least 5 years in a technical pre-sales role in CPaaS, SaaS or Telecom space
- Solid understanding and experience of the sales cycle and the role of a pre-sales engineer
- Solid understanding of voice protocols (VoIP), SIP implementations or messaging APIs
- Creativity: you’ll need to be a problem solver, able to collaborate with others to drive success.
- An engaging storyteller: you can gain audience confidence and communicate complex topics to multiple levels of technical and non-technical audience.
- Ability to ask the right questions to build a deep understanding of a customers needs and guide them to a technical solution using Twilio Communications products
- Knowledge of public cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and cloud application architectures
- Experience writing code in one or more of the following areas, multiple areas of experience would be advantageous:
- Backend (Java, C#, Node.js, Python or PHP)
- Web (JS, React)
- Experience with designing and consuming REST APIs
Desired:
- Hands on experience with with backend development (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, etc)
- Familiarity with Mobile development, especially for iOS and Android.
- Previous experience in Telecommunications, SIP, WebRTC, or Contact Centre in a technical role
- Experience with automation, cloud-native development and skills with a major cloud platform.
- Experience with sales methodologies
- Additional language speaker a plus, specifically French or Hebrew
Location
This role will be remote and based in the UK.
Travel

This position is needed to sell into high value prospects and customers. This person will play a key role in further growing the business across EMEA with a particular focus on Southern Europe. The candidate will be responsible for managing fast growing customers in the region. Focused mainly on Product cross and up-sell and GP growth, as well as sourcing net new opportunities within a set of accounts.
Responsibilities

- Servicing the fastest growing customers in the region.
- Growing our revenue and gross profit share of wallet within your key account list.
- Opening doors to the purchase of Twilio’s products and services - including voice, messaging, email, contact centre, account security software.
- Maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Create pricing proposals, negotiating terms and managing the contract process.
- Selling solutions to a technical and business audience.
- Building trust and mutual respect with technical customers and peers.
- Thinking outside of the box and having extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills to make complex contractual, technical, and financial details sound simple.
- Balancing challenging priorities and handling multiple projects/deals at the same time.

- 6+ years of Account Management/Sales experience covering selling and closing complex technical solutions to a large customer base.
- History of working with accounts ranging from large multinational enterprise customers to SMB.
- Demonstrated success by achieving quota on a consistent basis.
- Track record of Account Management experience and a solid understanding of how to cross and upsell solutions within a mature customer base.

About the job
This position is needed to help out the Edge Services team. The team that is responsible for the ingestion of Twilio’s Web Console and API traffic, and its supporting services. As part of the Edge Platform organization, we provide building blocks for all Twilio customers and engineers alike, with high-availability and low-latency requirements, in order to effectively enable over billions of inbound requests every day. We take great pride in wearing customer’s shoes and making decisions inclusively. It is extremely important for us to build services with exceptionally high uptime, availability, and success rates.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead the execution end-to-end: Design and lead the implementation of scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure, moving beyond feature work to drive long-term platform strategy while championing Twilio’s "progress over perfection" mindset to deliver continuous, high-impact shipments.
- Operational Excellence: Own the reliability of services handling billions of weekly requests, setting the standard for operational best practices and incident response.
- Infrastructure Strategy: Drive the evolution of our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns using Terraform, ensuring modularity, security, and reusability across the organization. Always aim for a self -service approach such that it keeps the team’s TOIL at minimum.
- Continuous optimization: Continuously looks for optimizations in our pipelines/releases/deliveries that balance rapid deployment with rigorous safety checks.
- Technical Mentorship and Reviews: Actively mentor L1 and L2 engineers as well as help with code reviews, design docs, and pair programming to foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Collaborate with Cross teams, Product and Engineering leadership to align technical roadmap, debt reduction and new feature deliveries.
- Continuous Innovation: Be an owner and continuously research and prototype to optimise Twilio’s API infrastructure to provide best in class service to the customers

- 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), with deep proficiency in Python, Java, Go or another other language of choice.
- Architectural Depth: Proven track record of designing and deploying complex AWS cloud-native solutions (e.g., CloudFront, Multitenancies, DNS, Caching strategies, WAF, Lambda, S3, developing hosting solutions, etc) at scale.
- IaC Expert: Advanced experience with Terraform, including writing custom providers or managing state at scale across multiple environments.
- System Reliability: Deep understanding of SLIs, SLOs, Golden signals, Error Budgets and establishing monitoring strategies; in depth experience using Datadog, Grafana, or Athena to drive data-informed engineering decisions.
- Strong background in microservices architecture, specifically regarding traffic routing, rate limiting, and service discovery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects from conception to completion, navigating trade-offs and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired:
- Experience implementing security-at-scale, including WAF management, DDoS mitigation, and Zero Trust architectures.
- Platform Engineering previous experience, passion for building "Internal Developer Platforms" that abstract infrastructure complexity for product teams.
- A proven track record of contributing to the cloud-native or networking ecosystem, also has contributions to public Terraform providers or similar open-source initiatives
