This is an in-person part-time position, offering part-time benefits and scheduled to start working on or after April 2026
We are looking for a swim instructor that will perform plan and provide high quality swimming and water safety instruction (aka swim lessons). Monitors patron water activities to ensure safety and prevent accidents or injuries.
Plans and provides group and private swim lessons for adults and children as organized by the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator that support the general teaching outlines provided by the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.
Organizes and directs activities of assigned students to provide a high level of quality instruction and experience. Establishes positive professional relationships with class participants and their parents/guardians.
Creates and distributes class participation certificates. Scans certificates to record individual progress. Educates participants/parents to recognize and understand swimming developments and achievements.
Communicates effectively and exchanges information with patrons. Resolves simple public complaints in matters related to swimming instruction and refers other complaints to the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator.
Enforces the Town of Snowmass Village Aquatics and Recreation Center Rules.
Works with the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator on an on-going basis to improve and refine individual skills related to teaching effective swimming lessons to various age groups, abilities and skill levels.
Assists the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator in adjusting an individual’s class assignment and communicating to the parents/guardians as necessary and appropriate.
Supports the Department in the event of cancellation due to weather or incident by communicating the issue and options for resolution to participants, as approved and instructed by a supervisor.
Attends training in-services as scheduled.
Maintains constant alertness and awareness of participants to minimize the risk of incident or accident. Performs water rescues and first aid as needed.
Contributes to records relating to incidents, accidents, rescues; reports unsafe conditions to the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator or other supervisor on duty.
Provides a high level of professionalism and customer service, always in accordance with the department’s staff expectation agreement. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with all co-workers, clients, professional contacts and community members; communicates respectfully and clearly, identifies and takes care of areas needing attention and expected to be on time and work when business demands require.

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant that will performs routine and specialized work including, but not limited to, data input; clerical support; data processing; parking permit sales; and administrative assistant support functions serving as executive administrative assistant, receptionist, and clerk, for the Transportation Department.
Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below:
Performs as the executive administrative assistant, receptionist and parking permit seller.
Distributes all mail and phone messages.
Performs data input, general filing and word processing.
Updates social media platforms as needed/required
Takes minutes at staff meetings and transcribes correspondence from dictation.
Sells parking permits and bus passes, processes citations.
Balances cash transactions and provides receipt.
Processes bulk mailings.
Processes invoices for payment/reimbursement and inputs purchase orders into finance accounting system.
Prepares reports in Microsoft Word or Excel and Access programs; acts as record management clerk in sorting, indexing distributing, and retrieving files.
Maintains records in accordance with Record Retention Policy.

• Perform as a lifeguard; observe patron activities; enforce rules; discipline or eject patrons for rule infractions; monitor patrons to prevent theft or facility abuse.
• Perform first aide as needed to assist individuals suffering injuries; perform water rescues as needed to prevent mishaps and drowning.
• Maintain constant alertness and awareness of patron activities to minimize exposure or threat of incident or accident.
• Perform scheduled upkeep and maintenance of facility; vacuum pool, scrub tile lines, clean decks, walls, windows, pool equipment, locker rooms, etc.
• Participate in the maintenance of daily records relating to accidents, rescues, water temperature and chemical testing procedures; reports unsafe conditions to the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator or Manager on duty.
• Respond to and resolve simple patron complaints and direct complex patron complaints to the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator.
• Provide a high level of professionalism and customer service; always in accordance with department’s staff expectation agreement
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
Knowledge of the rules and regulations of aquatics facilities
Water safety practices, rules and guidelines
First aide
CPR
Swimming instruction techniques
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
