What You'll Do
Tekmetric is looking for a Senior Director of Data Engineering; you'll drive the strategy, architecture, and execution of our data platform. In this role you’ll be focused on building the data foundations that power our product and fuel our AI/ML capabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll grow a small, talented team while staying close enough to the work to make architectural calls and push code when it counts.
- Own the data engineering roadmap, tightly coupled to Tekmetric's product vision and AI ambitions.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing data engineering team.
- Design and evolve our core data infrastructure on AWS, Apache Airflow, and Apache Spark.
- Build the pipelines and feature stores that feed directly into product features and AI/ML models.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to identify where data and AI can create step-change improvements in the customer experience.
- Design data architectures that support both analytical workloads and real-time, in-product data serving.
- Champion data quality, governance, and observability across the organization.
What You'll Bring
- 7–10 years in data engineering or data-focused software engineering, with 3+ years leading and developing engineers.
- Deep expertise with Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, and AWS data services (S3, Redshift, EMR, Bedrock, Lambda).
- Strong SQL and Python skills; Java or Scala a plus.
- Experience building data infrastructure that serves product features and AI/ML workloads — not just analytics and reporting.
- A builder's mindset: excited to grow a team from the ground up while still rolling up your sleeves.
- Equally comfortable in a product roadmap discussion and an architecture review.
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities evolve quickly.

What You’ll Do
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in web scraping, data processing, and search technologies to help build a large-scale data ingestion and classification system. You will be responsible for extracting data from diverse sources (web pages, APIs, PDFs), cleaning and normalizing it, and building search capabilities using ElasticSearch/OpenSearch. You will work with Python, Scrapy, Airflow, Kubernetes, AWS, and Spark to create scalable, high-performance data pipelines.
- Build and design large scale, distributed crawling bots (perhaps AI agents) and infrastructure that operate in an adversarial environment aiming at low operational overhead
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to extract data from large volumes of web pages, documents, PDFs (OCR), and APIs.
- Help unify heterogeneous documents into a coherent data schema across varied source formats
- Preprocess and normalize raw data for downstream classification, ML/NLP, and search indexing.
- Build APIs to expose structured, classified data via ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
- Collaborate with ML/NLP teams to integrate classification models into the pipeline.
- Automate workflows using Apache Airflow and deploy solutions in Kubernetes on AWS.
- Optimize and scale data pipelines using Spark (EMR) for processing large datasets.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in Python with building crawling/scraping solutions at scale.
- Experience working with APIs (REST), PDF processing (OCR, Tesseract, PyMuPDF etc.).
- Proficiency in data processing & search technologies (ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, NoSQL/SQL databases).
- Hands-on experience with Airflow and Spark (EMR) or similar distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills in handling anti-scraping mechanisms and data scaling challenges.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with NLP and Machine Learning (a plus but not required).
- Experience with LLMs, NLP models, or ML frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face, spaCy, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Prior experience in automated document classification.
- Experience working in high-scale, production environments with petabytes of data.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.

What You’ll Do
Tekmetric is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to take part in the full development lifecycle, from ideation and brainstorming, to implementation and testing. You will build a strong relationship with Product and Design teams and ensure our vision and goals are aligned. You will take abstract problems and interactively distill and build scalable, sustainable, and performant solutions. Our ideal candidate has experience in Java, Spring, and MySQL. Experience with Javascript and React is a plus
You will be responsible for:
- Design and implement scalable services and applications that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
- Provide implementation estimates and evaluations of different solutions
- Collaborate with and across agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
- Manage the end-to-end life cycle on the development of new features
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship and growth to junior team members as we scale
What You’ll Bring
- You have 5+ years software engineering experience
- You have experience with Java and SQL databases (2+ years)
- You enjoy working in fast moving and dynamic environments

What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure: Architect and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure that supports positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
- Monitor and optimize system performance: Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices to ensure system reliability and performance at scale.
- Automate everything: Create automated pipelines for deployment, testing, and infrastructure management to improve speed, consistency, and reliability across the organization.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery: Implement and manage solutions for backup, disaster recovery, and failover processes to ensure business continuity.
- Security and compliance: Apply best practices in security, monitoring, and compliance, ensuring that systems meet necessary requirements and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with development, data, product, and QA teams to improve application reliability and scalability.
- Leadership and mentorship: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior DevOps team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related field, with deep knowledge of cloud environments (preferably AWS or GCP.).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS (or similar cloud providers) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc.).
- Automation: Strong experience in automation tools
- Containerization: Expertise in working with containerized environments like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or similar.
- CI/CD pipelines: Experience with designing and optimizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally, solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative manner.
- Problem-solving mindset: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues in high-pressure environments, maintaining composure and professionalism.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
- Exposure to compliance and security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience coding in one or multiple programming languages such as Go, Java, Javascript.
