WFMY News 2 in Greensboro, NC is looking for an engaging and innovative journalist to join our team as an Evening Anchor and Multi-Skilled Journalist. We are seeking a dynamic personality, passionate storyteller, and team player, who knows how to connect with the community on all platforms.
Our ideal candidate understands this role is much more than reading a prompter. It is about authenticity, relating with the audience, and guiding our communities with context around the news. We want a digitally savvy team member who can reach our audience on all platforms.
In this role, you'll be responsible for anchoring our late evening newscasts. You will be expected to take a leadership role in the broadcasts, assisting with the show's execution and writing. You will also report daily as a general assignment Multi-Skilled Journalist. Your reporting will require establishing sources, breaking news, and pitching unique enterprise ideas.
Fill-in anchoring on other shows and during station special coverage is also part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to establish and maintain social media accounts and grow them with guidance from our digital team.
Responsibilities:
• Anchor late newscast
• Take a leadership role in the broadcasts by planning, participating in
content creation, and helping organize available news crews
• Contribute content and stories as a Multi-Skilled Journalist
• Establish sources, utilize social listening skills, cover breaking news, and pitch unique enterprise ideas
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms including WFMY-branded social media accounts
• Fill-in on the anchor desk for other shows and during special coverage
• Participate in community partnerships and events
Requirements:
• Minimum three years of reporting experience preferred and demonstrated anchor experience
• Ability to calmly handle breaking news situations from the anchor desk and live from the field
• Knowledge of non-linear editing systems and ability to shoot and edit your own packages
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
• Ability to work different shifts, including mornings, nights and weekends
• BA/BS in journalism or a communications-related field preferred
• A portfolio with examples of strong breaking, general, and feature news anchoring and reporting

- Ability to identify, write and produce stories within a specific framework.
- Research for facts and credibility.
- Maintain and develop sources who will help bring our reporting to the next level.
- Shoot, write, produce and edit on air and online content within deadlines.
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.

- Attend editorial meetings and offer story ideas daily.

Requirements:
- 3-5 years reporting experience preferred.
- Must possess solid news judgment, display strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills.
- Strong writing skills, production skills and tease writing abilities.
- ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred.
- Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines.

WFMY-TV Gre in CBS is looking for a dynamic and engaging Meteorologist to join our passionate team. This position is responsible for preparing and delivering accurate weather reports on-air and online in a conversational manner. The key responsibility is the ability to gather and analyze information and alert our audiences about what’s going to happen with weather in their community. We are looking for a team player who can help with every aspect of meteorology, from forecasting, to preparing graphics, to reporting in the field, you will be an integral part of severe weather coverage, and reaching our consumers not only on TV, but online and on social media. The ideal candidate embraces new technology and is willing to explore new ways to present the weather story. As a central member of the WX department, the ideal candidate is a team player who participates in brainstorming and planning for future shows, including important weather events and explainers.

WFMY-TV Greensboro is seeking a Broadcast IT Technician.
Responsibilities:
· Support day to day operations of our television including all daily news operations, live sports radio shows and play-by-play, equipment, and computer-based IT systems.
· Maintain and/or repair satellite receivers, cameras, switchers, graphic systems, audio equipment, routers, automation, editing systems, intercoms, monitors, display systems, as well as traditional desktop and file/print services.
· Design and update scripting code in various broadcast systems.
· Provide technical support to operational users.
· Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware, software and peripherals, including network servers, storage, network switches, PCs and software applications, LAN cabling, system security and virus protection.
· Consult and communicate with engineering management and other engineers on technical issues as required.
· Create and maintain wiring documentation, and system configuration documentation.
· Perform all technical work to engineering standards and practices.
· Maintain knowledge staying current on technological advances including computer software and hardware, media and entertainment technologies, television broadcasting, and studio production.
· Knowledge of IT and Broadcast systems operation, maintenance and services as needed to assist in supporting these systems.
· Provide light building maintenance and perform other duties as assigned.
· Maintain, support and upgrade broadcast and IT environments throughout the station including the news department, sports department, sales and traffic departments, and/or television and radio broadcast studios.
Requirements:
· Ability to troubleshoot and maintain television and radio broadcast equipment.
· Knowledge of Audio over IP (AoIP) routing systems – Wheatstone preferred.
· Basic understanding of scripting and code writing – ex. C++, VisualBasic, PowerShell
· Effective written and verbal communication skills (ability to clearly communicate the status of problems, provide updates to progress on projects, and offer solutions to technical issues).
· Associate degree (AA) in electronics, related field or work experience in lieu of degree.
· Knowledge of radio and television transmitters preferred.
· Experience with AM directional antenna systems
· Ability to install and maintain computer systems and network equipment.
· Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
· Must possess strong personal interaction skills, good communication skills, ability to work under pressure and deadlines, and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
· Available to work various hours and days including weekends, overnights, and holidays, as needed.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand and power tools, work on small components, and perform other physical tasks.
