About the role
We’ve spent the last two years actively shaping EU legislation to ensure our Account Verification Services (AVS) became the gold standard. After successfully lobbying for a safer financial landscape, we’ve emerged as the EU market leader in Account Verification (VOP, CoP), widely considered the standard in the industry. We have outgrown the "blank canvas" startup phase, but we are not a rigid corporate machine. We have been building and expanding our product suite and are looking for a new colleague.
As a VP Business Development you will own the entire commercial domain with the goal of growth across Europe—spanning Sales, Presales, and Partnerships. Your objective is to leverage our commercial teams and focus on Tier-1 banks as our primary channel to reach their corporate clients. Focus will be on adding new logos as well as complex, strategic cross-selling (e.g., Fraud Risk Indicators and Global Solutions) of our additional products.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team to reclaim "home markets" where local schemes currently dominate and penetrate the Top 50 European banks.
- Strategy Execution: Own and implement the "Bank-as-a-Channel" model across the EU and UK. You will orchestrate Sales, Account Directors, Inside Sales, and Partnerships to ensure our services are sold to and through major financial institutions.
- Team Leadership & Evolution: Lead and mentor a team of ~12 direct reports located primarily in NL, with local presence in DE, UK, and BE.
- You will evaluate the current structure and evolve it to support complex, high-value technical sales.
- Tier-1 Pursuit: Personally drive or provide "heavy-weight" support for engagements with Top 50 targets (e.g., Barclays, HSBC, BNP Paribas).
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Act as the bridge between the market and our Product/Marketing teams. You must translate complex technical solutions into clear commercial value propositions, navigating local markets and regulations.
About you
We are looking for someone who thrives in the "middle" phase of a company. You have the analytical depth to look at a local market’s regulatory environment and pivot the GTM strategy on the fly. You are knowledgeable about the fraud space and understand where the needs of banks and other organisations are.
We need a human oriented commercial leader, you are as comfortable coaching a junior Inside Sales rep as you are sitting across from a C-level executive at a Tier 1 bank. Furthermore, you have:
- 10+ years of experience in Enterprise software sales, selling complex SaaS, Fintech, or Regtech solutions to C-suite stakeholders ideally at major European Banks.
- Solid experience leading commercial teams through international growth.
- Hands-on experience with GTM Localization:. You know how to pivot strategies for different regulatory environments and business cultures. You have the analytical skill to look at local market realities and adapt the value proposition, pricing, or outreach strategy accordingly.
- Collaborative, data-driven, and hands-on leader able to turn insight into action
- Results-oriented, with a strong bias for action and ownership of outcomes. Building is in your DNA.
- Resilience & Agility: You aren't rattled by the "messiness" of a scale-up. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can pivot when a specific EU vertical requires a different approach
- Leadership skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, driving a collaborative and high-performance culture.
