About the team

In this role, you’d be joining the Professional Services team. Our team’s mission is to empower every Stripe user to achieve maximum value from their investment quickly and confidently. Our team helps Stripe increase the GDP of the internet by supporting the success of our large, intricate Stripe implementations. This involves guiding users through their integration process, project planning, coordinating with stakeholders, handling deliverables, meeting key timelines, and educating our users about the maximum potential they can achieve with Stripe.

As an Implementation Consultant at Stripe, you are the driving force behind these strategic implementations. Your role is key in leading them through the integration process, turning them into long-term transacting Stripe users. Our team’s core objective is to provide an efficient, seamless transition for our clients, assuring top-notch user satisfaction and relationship management.

What you’ll do

As an Implementation Consultant, you will be managing the full onboarding cycle for mid-market and enterprise companies from contract signing through launch. You will proactively develop and manage integration architecture, change management strategy, and timelines. You will be expected to collaborate across departments, including Sales, Technical Services, Product, and Engineering, to ensure a successful transition for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Own the full onboarding cycle for mid-market and enterprise companies from contract signing through launch.
• Develop, manage, and implement a customer’s integration architecture, change management strategy, and timeline.
• Partner with other Sales and Technical Services teams to improve the overall Stripe user journey. 
• Engage with Product and Engineering teams to help drive product strategy for large users.
• Collaborate with teammates on strategic projects that improve and scale our implementation process and team operations.

About The Team

An Account Executive, SMB at Stripe partners with small and medium-sized businesses to help them leverage Stripe’s financial infrastructure to accept payments, grow revenue, and scale efficiently. These customers range from high-growth startups to established SMBs, often looking to expand their use of Stripe products to optimize operations and unlock new revenue streams.

The SMB team is a strategic priority for Stripe, and SMB AEs play a critical role in driving customer growth, adoption, and retention. They act as trusted advisors to business owners and operators, helping clients maximize value from Stripe’s products while scaling their businesses.

What you’ll do

SMB AEs engage with both existing and prospective customers, managing the full sales lifecycle—from lead generation and discovery to solution design, negotiation, and post-sale adoption. They work cross-functionally with Product, Risk, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver tailored solutions that address each customer’s unique needs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a growing SMB to expand their payments or financial infrastructure, driving adoption of additional Stripe products
• Lead contract renewals, upsell opportunities, and commercial negotiations to increase revenue and market share
• Generate new business through outbound prospecting, cold outreach, research, and networking within their territory
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Operations teams to solve complex client needs and improve Stripe’s platform and offerings
• Deliver compelling proposals and business cases to help SMBs understand the long-term value of Stripe
• Develop repeatable strategies, scalable processes, and go-to-market programs that drive product adoption, retention, and growth across the SMB segment

Who you are

You are an adept salesperson, capable of engaging in business-level and technical conversations at multiple levels of the organization, including the CTO, COO, and CFO. You have experience working with upper middle market and enterprise companies. You have an in-depth understanding of the buyer journey and can lead a complex, multi-party sale in a highly consultative manner. You are used to building value in competitive situations and enjoy working on products that require deep product understanding, combined with technical knowledge. You are naturally analytical and enjoy digging into business models and helping businesses quantify their investment decisions. You get excited about prospecting, and are capable of independently leading a sales cycle from start to finish. Finally, you enjoy building – you like to actively participate in the development of our sales process, the articulation of our value proposition, and the creation of key tools and assets.

About The Team

A Stripe Commercial (Mid-Market) Account Executive partners with high-growth, under-penetrated mid-market businesses to help them scale and modernize their financial infrastructure. These companies—often tech-forward, founder-led, and rapidly scaling—represent Stripe’s next generation of breakout users.

Stripe Commercial AEs are responsible for both acquiring new users and expanding existing relationships. They guide companies through the full sales lifecycle, uncovering pain points, aligning on solutions across Stripe’s product suite, and driving long-term value. Commercial AEs serve as strategic advisors, helping users unlock new revenue, streamline operations, and launch ambitious new products on top of Stripe’s platform.

What you’ll do

Commercial AEs own a book of high-potential accounts—some already using Stripe, others still evaluating. They operate with a dual motion: hunting for new growth opportunities and farming existing relationships for deeper adoption and expansion. They work cross-functionally with Solutions, Product, Post-Sales, and Sales Ops to craft tailored strategies and execute at high velocity.

Responsibilities

• Identify high-potential fast-growing eCommerce platform for a full-stack Stripe implementation, from payments to Connect
• Lead a product and pricing workshop with an existing user to introduce Radar and optimize their fraud stack
• Develop and execute an outbound play to target a new vertical in their region or territory.
• Create and deliver compelling product walkthroughs to showcase how Stripe’s expanding product suite (like Issuing or Treasury) maps to customer goals
• Drive commercial discussions and close complex, high-impact deals—both net-new and upsell
• Partner with Customer Success and Solutions Architects to resolve user pain points and deepen Stripe integration
• Share feedback with Product and Marketing teams to help inform roadmap and messaging priorties

Japan Regulatory Compliance & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (RC & MLRO)

Stripe is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Regulatory Compliance & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (RC & MLRO) to lead our regulatory compliance and financial crimes program in Japan. This role sits within the Affiliates pillar of the Financial Crime, Compliance & Risk Oversight (FinCRO) organization, and you will be reporting to the APAC Affiliates Lead. 

You will be the named RC & MLRO of Stripe Japan and will lead/assist in the registration of Stripe Japan as a Funds Transfer Business Operator (FTBO) with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau (KBF), under the oversight of the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA). In your role as the RC & MLRO, you will be the principal decision-maker and strategic lead on regulatory compliance and  financial crime risk management decisions, serving a critical role in ensuring Stripe’s continued safe growth and success in Japan.  You will also be the public face of FinCRO in Japan. The ideal candidate must have deep subject matter expertise and a proven track record building and evolving tech-forward regulatory compliance and financial crime programs (collectively, compliance programs). 

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a robust and effective compliance strategy for Japan, aligning with global FinCRO objectives and business goals, leveraging AI, data science and automation wherever possible. Provide regular reporting and updates to the Stripe Japan’s Board of Directors  regarding the health and effectiveness of the compliance programs.
• Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crimes Programs Oversight: Act as the RC & MLRO, owning and enhancing Stripe Japan's compliance programs, in particular, ensuring the financial crime program is designed to efficiently and effectively prevent, detect, and report money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes.
• Regulatory Management: Proactively engage with local regulators to shape the future of fintech oversight, advocating for tech-enabled compliance solutions. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators and an ambassador for Stripe in Japan. 
• External influence: Act as a thought leader in the payments industry, representing Stripe in external forums and groups to help modernize regulatory expectations for the fintech era. 
• Partner and Relationship Management: Build and maintain trust and strong, collaborative relationships with key financial partners, including banks, payment networks, and other third-party providers. Educate partners on Stripe’s compliance programs and controls, and serve as the senior point of contact for escalations.
• Advisory and Consultation: Exercise oversight to ensure Stripe’s program and controls are fit for purpose. Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on product development to foster compliance by design.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of experience in financial crime, with a significant focus on financial services, fintech, or payments, and deep contacts - and influence - across the industry 
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep and current knowledge of financial crimes and other relevant financial services laws and regulations across Japan.
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically and translate complex regulatory requirements into creative and practical solutions.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making
• Resilience: Define and iterate on Stripe Japan’s risk appetite, ensuring a defensible stance as Stripe explores new, high-growth verticals and opportunities
• Data proficiency: High data literacy, ability to work closely with data teams to identify emerging financial crime patterns and validate the effectiveness of detection models

• Certifications: CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.
