What you’ll do

As the head of our Commercial New Business team for DACH, you’ll play an instrumental role in fueling Stripe’s growth in the market through new customer acquisition and setting the long term strategy to Stripe’s trajectory for this user segment. You'll lead and coach high-performing account executives, helping them deliver on ambitious targets, as well as roll up your sleeves to work directly with users and prospects. We are looking for an individual who is keen to work alongside a high-performing team of individuals to navigate complex organizations, find new opportunities to make payments a competitive advantage for their businesses, and evolve our joint go-to-market in new ways.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop and lead a team of sales professionals, with a particular focus on the Commercial segment in DACH
• Develop the long-term vision and strategy for the team and manage day-to-day operations, with a focus on performance against key sales metrics
• Be accountable for increasing revenue and new client acquisition at high rates of growth
• Driving deal strategy and execution including strong pipeline development, opportunity/renewal management, and forecasting
• Coach and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills through all facets of the sales cycle
• Play a personal and direct role in building and maintaining enduring customer relationships, up to C-level
• Inspire, motivate and enable personal and career development of team members, both to promote career growth and to increase impact for Stripe
• Collaborating closely with key stakeholders across Sales, Product/Connect, Sales Ops, S&O, Marketing, GTM Partnerships, and others
• Participate in industry events to help support positive market awareness

• Proven track record of success within the DACH region
• High professional fluency in German and English

About the team

The DACH team is a highly consultative sales team responsible for both winning new business and driving the growth of Stripe's most strategic customers across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. We work with the most ambitious market leaders and high-growth innovators — from Personio , FREE NOW, N26 to Westwing — helping them build the financial infrastructure that powers their next stage of growth.

Stripe's payments and financial infrastructure is the engine that unlocks new revenue streams, automates complex local compliance, and drives global expansion for the region's most prominent businesses. This is a pivotal moment for Stripe in DACH — the market opportunity is significant, and we're looking for someone who wants to help shape it.

What you’ll do

As an Enterprise Account Executive, you’ll own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and closing to managing existing relationships and identifying new opportunities to expand Stripe’s footprint within existing accounts. Specifically, we’re looking for someone who can execute on long-term sales strategies, engage with internal and external stakeholders, align on technical and business requirements with product teams, build value in competitive situations, lead commercial negotiations, and close deals.

Responsibilities

• Work with both new and existing Stripe customers to develop and execute long-term sales strategies to expand Stripe’s revenue
• Own the full sales cycle, from business case development, to deal structuring and negotiating, to close
• Own a named account list and develop account plans for winning and expanding business with high growth technology companies
• Develop outbound strategies to create and nurture opportunities
• Work with both new and existing Stripe customers to develop and execute long-term sales strategies to expand Stripe’s revenue 
• Drive deal strategy and commercial negotiations for large, complex renewals
• Develop relationships with executive stakeholders within your book of business
• Be responsible for account mapping and coordinating effective meetings with the appropriate external stakeholders expanding the customer relationship
• Lead and contribute to team projects to develop and refine our sales process and help shape the Stripe sales culture

• 6+ years of sales experience, preferably selling a highly technical product to enterprise customers, with a track record of top performance
• Ability to understand technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple products
• Ability to develop and execute account plans spanning multiple business units across complex organizations
• A knack for working well with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
• Strong presentation skills, particularly for in-person meetings with multiple stakeholders
• Proven ability to lead complex negotiations involving bespoke commercial agreements
• Superior verbal and written communication skills in English and in German. 
• Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
• Strong interest in technology and a deep understanding of the space

What you’ll do

We are looking for an enthusiastic Partner Development Manager (PDM) to join the EMEA Alliances & Channels team. As a Partner Development Manager (PDM) , you will cultivate and develop Stripe’s Consulting/Services and Technology partnerships.

This is both a partner relationship and a revenue-generating role working daily with the regional sales teams. This highly cross functional role also includes executing Stripe’s global partner programs, partner marketing, partner enablement and partner co-selling initiatives across the region, driving partner participation and engagement. 

As the successful candidate, you will have experience in Enterprise sales and/or partner management in the high tech or payments industry, preferably with experience working with consulting (Systems Integrators, Services firms, Development Agencies) and/or technology (software companies, ISVs, cloud companies, infrastructure companies) partnerships. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally. An understanding of the economics of the payments space and the ecommerce ecosystem would be a bonus.

• Work with the wider Operations team to provide current state, resources and knowledge to enable Gold Standard Experience across teams interacting directly with the user via support channels, external documentation, or product/feature feedback or development
• Foster long term user relationships that grow loyalty to Stripe and Stripe products
• Work cross-functionally both internally and within your user’s organizations to provide and implement operational solutions on subjects not limited to fraud/disputes, declines, product adoption and global expansion
• Work closely with Customer Success and other user facing teams as part of a larger effort to support users on Stripe
• Lead user facing meetings both in person and through video chat
• Collaborate on the continued design of this support offering
• Create user-facing content for long term solutions

• Minimum 3 years experience in enterprise level client-facing work
• Strong product sense and energized by the challenge of solving difficult user related problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German to support regional based customers
• Ability to lead complex integration conversations in a highly consultative and proactive manner
• Familiarity with APIs and able to explain API concepts to Stripe’s largest and most technical customers
• Familiarity with SQL and is comfortable building basic queries and modifying more complex ones
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and is comfortable interfacing with technical teams
• A professional, confident and collaborative personality; an adept client relationship manager, capable of engaging in business-level and technical conversations at multiple levels of the organization

Preferred qualifications 

• Operations savvy mindset, with an ability to identify and eliminate process friction while continuing to build scalable processes
• Experience practicing in small to medium scale project management
• Strong organizational skills and self-starting mindset
• Ideal experience with tools like Postman, xCode, Python, Webhooks, ETL 
• Ideal experience in the payments industry
• Good to have Polish or Ukrainian language expertise (Native or Intermediate)

• Lead the post-sale engagement, retention, and growth of your customers, partnering closely with the Account Executive
• Support expansion of your accounts - identify opportunities, drive business outcomes, ensure customers are successful in partnership with the account team
• Build and foster relationships with senior executives in business, product, engineering, finance, and IT in partnership with the Account Executive and team
• Evangelize Stripe customer success stories and customer success systems and processes
• Articulate and drive customer use cases, customer value and expansion while maintaining trusted customer advisor status
• Serve as a trusted payments and commerce advisor to the customer and educate them on the use and benefits of our products and our industry
• Aligned with the account team, perform business reviews to align on business priorities, Stripe product roadmap, review services satisfaction, share usage patterns or insights, surface issues, provide guidance on how to optimize the value from Stripe, and identify product expansion opportunities. 
• Advocate for the customer to internal stakeholders. Share customer feedback and insights to Product Management, Engineering, Support, Marketing, and Sales on the innovation and improvement needed to optimize the Stripe user experience
• Drive overall account health including payments performance, cost optimization, product adoption, usage velocity, account renewals and growth, referrals, and customer satisfaction

• History of success as a consultant, pre-sales, technical account management, or equivalent
• Experience building comprehensive account plans
• Proven track record of achieving targets and goals, preferably in a sales setting
• Track record of managing large, complex projects and/or programs
• Experience handling difficult customers or situations and can demonstrate resolutions
• Must work within a team environment with sales and services peers
• Ability to navigate data and people to find answers
• A strong understanding of our business and products, and an ability to research/self-starter

• Sophisticated business sense and understanding of underlying drivers and strategy of our user’s businesses
