About the team

Stripe’s Professional Services team works with our most strategic users. You will work on the highest visibility projects to provide technical expertise to our customers to help accelerate their knowledge, solution design and integrations with Stripe. This role is responsible for leading strategic conversations and developing plans that will transform the payments and financial infrastructure for leading enterprises.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute integration engineering end-to-end, from high-level architecture down to code implementation. This includes conducting discovery sessions with users to understand their goals, parsing out specific use cases, and guiding users to implement high complexity integrations. 
• Think on your feet and communicate technical concepts, explaining how Stripe works from both a product feature and API architecture perspective. Manage user expectations on timelines and product changes.
• Be the primary, ongoing technical point of contact for our largest users' and partners' technical teams. You will be responsible for resolving user integration issues and owning escalations for operational issues and priority requests.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architecture and Implementation teams to drive client engagement, customer wins, and revenue on behalf of the Professional Services team
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to proactively identify potential enhancements and new features based on feedback you’ll gather from the field.
• Provide deep technical support and debugging, inspecting and understanding the Stripe codebase and thoroughly testing functionality to best advise users, while also building and demonstrating proof-of-concept integrations, creating user-specific test plans, and answering ad-hoc technical questions.
• In some cases, lead "Hands On Keyboard" implementations for user engagements, providing material feedback on coding practices, CI/CD, and software architecture.
• Review and optimize existing user integrations and provide recommendations to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Build tools and analytics; create dashboards, run queries, and generate custom data reports to support user business reviews and operational needs.
• Develop and share knowledge, building reusable processes to enable the larger Professional Services team.

Minimum requirements

• 4 years + experience in a Software Engineering / Integration Engineering role.
• Ability to write code (in programming languages like Go, Java, C/C++ etc.) and quickly debug user code snippets.
• Comfortable with various code-level debugging (Stripe code and user code) and using code as a tool for problem-solving.
• Strong generalist technical experience, including proficiency in SQL and an understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Understanding of the payments domain and API security topics.
• Be comfortable talking about technical concepts, and explaining how Stripe works, both from a product features and API architecture perspective.
• A user first approach & empathy with our users, capable of mapping business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Confident and comfortable with customers, with the ability to lead strategic technical conversations.

About the team

Stripe’s Professional Services Sales team works with our most strategic users; You will help customers accelerate their growth and adoption on Stripe. This role is responsible for leading strategic conversations during pre-sales that will transform the payments and financial infrastructure for leading enterprises, ultimately driving revenue growth through our professional service offerings.

What you’ll do

As an Enterprise Services Manager, you will sell large Professional Services engagements to strategic clients and drive Stripe’s future growth engine by building relationships with prospective users and turning them into happy Stripe users.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire Professional Services sales cycle for enterprise companies.
• Partner with Account Executives on named account lists to develop account plans aimed at winning and expanding Professional Services business with enterprise clients.
• Drive the success of Professional Services by managing and forecasting bookings.
• Craft custom proposals that align with clients' business outcomes, utilizing services across Professional Services and partner offerings.
• Advise senior leadership in customer organizations on building business cases for digital transformation.
• Lead pre-sales workshops with customers, focusing on strategy, vision, discovery, and assessment.
• Shape Professional Services deals, and build and negotiate contracts/Statements of Work.
• Engage with Product and Engineering teams to influence product strategy for large clients.
• Collaborate effectively with GTM partners to integrate complementary strategies and drive mutual growth objectives.
• Prepare the delivery team with user insights to ensure that the delivery aligns with the desired business outcomes.

• 5+ years of professional services sales experience, preferably at a technology company or a consulting firm, with a track record of top performance.
• Proven experience in pre-sales and sales of sizable service engagements, as well as in contract and Statement of Work (SOW) development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large transformational engagements using disruptive technologies.
• Thrives on the urgency and importance of working with our largest customers, achieving set objectives while balancing competing priorities.
• Ability to understand complex business requirements and develop tailored solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity to produce strategic insights and identify opportunities.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of the sales cycles associated with a SaaS product or technology platform for strategic enterprise customers.
• An in-depth understanding of the buyer journey and the ability to lead complex, multi-party sales in a highly consultative manner.
• Experience working with upper middle market and enterprise companies.
• A proven track record of driving cross-functional alignment among a broad set of stakeholders, including engineering, sales, support, product, marketing, data science, and senior leadership, to achieve growth targets.
• Experience in building and scaling a go-to-market (GTM) growth discipline, including the development of strategy, processes, and operating models.
• Proven ability to create a strong growth culture within a team.
• Background in a growth-stage internet/software company and/or the payments industry.
• Familiarity with APIs and their role in digital solutions.

• Own all facets of the relationship with the User  - Our Engagement Managers provide overall vision and direction throughout the program/project lifecycle for Stripe’s most complex user engagements. They are the single point of contact for the Stripe internal organization and for the user program/project management counterparts as it relates to the in-flight implementation to help lead and drive collaboration, knowledge sharing, issue resolution and decision-making.
• Accelerate time to value - Rigorous program/project management and quality assurance practices lead to implementation efficiencies that generate cost savings and speed of business outcomes. Engagement Managers are seasoned leaders who build high-performing project teams, accelerate time to value, and drive rapid and effective program decision-making by proactively managing the integration of Stripe’s products into the user’s application/technical architecture, test and change management strategies and transformation timelines.
• Deliver Program / Project Management expertise & innovation - Engagement Managers deliver program/project management expertise based on experience, continuous learning, and in-depth knowledge of Stripe’s products and implementation best practices. They drive innovation and adoption of deployment practices, provide product adoption insights and help users achieve the maximum value from their Stripe investment. In addition to this, they play a pivotal role in the continuous improvement and enablement of the Stripe Implementation Methodology and it’s associated tools, templates and processes
• Manage scope, time, cost and quality - The Engagement Manager provides well-established program/project governance to manage requirements in line with the agreed scope and business objectives. This is made possible through effective balance of time, cost, and quality via proactive program planning focused on business outcomes.
• Mitigate and Manage risk - Engagement Managers are responsible for providing proactive risk assessment, prevention and mitigation plans and the efficient identification, tracking, and resolution of issues and decisions using established tools and templates with internal and user stakeholders. Engagement Managers are the primary interface between the user and Stripe’s Product and Engineering teams to drive implementation alignment to the forward roadmap and future capabilities.
• Provide Program / Project Governance - Leading into and throughout the Implementation Program and associated projects, the Engagement Manager will work in concert with the User’s assigned Program / Project Manager to instantiate and execute on the agreed Program / Project Governance model and related Stakeholder Management and Communications plan
• Close out the project - Upon project completion, Engagement Managers ensure a smooth transition of the implemented Stripe capabilities into operation for the user. This includes complete knowledge transfer and the handover to Stripe Support
• Engage as part of a thriving internal Engagement Management Community - Our Engagement Managers actively participate in a global community of practitioners to continually evolve and improve the way in which Stripe leads and supports our Users through high impact and complex implementations of Stripe’s payment infrastructure
