We're looking for a Director of Solutions Engineering to lead a global team of 18 solutions professionals in delivering technical expertise that drives enterprise revenue growth. You'll be responsible for scaling a high-performing team consisting of 1 Solutions Engineering Manager, 3 Solutions Architects, and 14 Solutions Engineers across multiple regions. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, the ability to drive performance through clear accountability, and deep experience working with enterprise-level customers.

You'll work closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to ensure our solutions engineering function delivers measurable impact on revenue outcomes. This includes developing team capabilities, refining processes, and ensuring technical solutions align with customer needs and business objectives. We're seeking someone who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in complex deals, build a culture of excellence and accountability, and scale the team to support continued growth in the enterprise segment.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Lead and develop a global team of 18 solutions professionals, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
• Drive revenue outcomes by ensuring the solutions engineering team effectively supports enterprise sales cycles
• Build and maintain a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Sales (Account Executive Leaders) leadership to align solutions engineering priorities with revenue goals and pipeline growth
• Establish metrics and processes to measure team performance, customer outcomes, and business impact
• Partner with Product and Engineering to communicate customer needs and influence product roadmap
• Oversee complex enterprise engagements, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership when needed
• Develop team capabilities through training, mentorship, and career development planning
• Scale processes and systems to support team growth and operational efficiency
• Represent the solutions engineering function in cross-functional leadership discussions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, or technical consulting roles with progression into leadership
• 5+ years of people management experience, including managing managers and leading distributed teams
• Demonstrated success driving revenue outcomes and supporting enterprise sales cycles
• Track record of building and scaling high-performing technical teams
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect technical solutions to business value
• Experience working with enterprise-level customers and navigating complex organizational structures
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Proven ability to drive accountability and performance in a results-oriented environment
• Experience establishing metrics, processes, and systems to scale team operations
• Passion for developing talent and building team capabilities over time
• Demonstrates AI literacy, with the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, decision-making, and quality of work while applying sound judgment and critical thinking

U.S. Base Salary Range: $155,000 -$250,000

The Director of Sales is a key role within the Sales division as you will be instrumental in forming, developing and leading a team of Enterprise Account Executives for the Sales region North America (NA). Furthermore the Director of Sales shapes the Storyblok sales concept for this target market and scales revenue to the next level. Responsible for leading the AMER Enterprise Account Executive team and scaling that up. Oversees business development and sales activities into existing and new markets and helps the team in forecasting and negotiating complex deals. Own all plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals.

• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets for the North American market
• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Account Executives.
• Shape and refine Storyblok's sales concept for the North American target market
• Oversee sales activities in existing and new markets within AMER

• Analyze market trends, identify new business opportunities, and develop action plans to capitalize on them
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners

• Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management

• Prepare and present regular sales reports and insights to senior management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role such as Sales Manager or Director of Sales
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in the North American market
• Strong understanding of B2B enterprise sales processes and methodologies
• Experience in scaling sales teams and operations in high-growth environments
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans
• Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools
• Deep understanding of the North American market dynamics and customer neI knoweds
• Experience in selling SaaS or similar technology products is highly desirable
• Deep understanding and application of the MEDDPICC sales methodology
• A positive, can-do attitude with a drive to overcome challenges and inspire your team to do the same
• Deep knowledge of the American market and proven track record in selling in this region.
