Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Reusable systems with frequent launch cadence are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. A highly operable, reliable, and robust network infrastructure is an integral part of a fully reusable launch system.
As a Network Systems Engineer on Stoke Space’s Information Technology team, you’ll deploy, document and maintain robust network architectures, cloud infrastructure integration and related network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.) that meet our rapidly growing needs while facilitating a successful startup culture as we race towards our first launch of Nova.
We are a small and motivated team, and you will work across the entire Stoke organization and bring expertise in networking technologies, security best practices, and performance optimization. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced startup environment — ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, technical depth, and cross-functional collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within NIST frameworks and ensuring network security compliance.
You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mission Operations Engineer with a focus on launch automation, vehicle systems, and launch day Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for our Nova launch vehicle. In this critical role, you will develop launch day automation systems, coordinate with engineering teams, and ensure a seamless transition from ground operations through launch, flight, and handoff to orbital or recovery operations. This role will be well served by someone who is an expert in software engineering AND aerospace propulsion systems including tanks and structures.

As an intern, you will work on real, open-ended problems that directly contribute to the success of the company. You will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills through high-impact projects. Internships are available across the company within engineering teams such as mechanical, test, avionics, and manufacturing.
Please note: this role requires you to work onsite either at our Kent, Moses Lake, or Cape Canaveral location.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications for various teams:
Mechanical:
Project-level experience with mechanical, thermodynamic, or fluid design and analysis. CAD proficiency and working as part of a team a plus
Manufacturing:
Hands on experience building things or working in a machine shop
Avionics:
Designing, testing, and integrating PCBs, test equipment, and/or harnessing
Test Operations:
Any hands-on experience building things or performing hazardous ops (pressure testing, cryogenic handling, etc.)
